Default Graphical Glitches and PC Lockups
Hi All,

Hope someone can help me out, for some time now I've been getting weird graphical glitches like this:





Also my PC keeps locking at random points, which repeating sound which can only be fixed by restarting the PC.

I recently formatted and rebuilt my PC, hoping to fix this. Rebuild was less then 1 month ago.

All drivers appear to be up to date.

And graphics card isn't overheating as far as I can tell because I have changed the fan for a more silent and better one, and yes its been installed correctly:



My only guess is the graphics card memory or processor is damaged or on its way out since its been doing this for a while now.

One final thing to add, its not only GW which crashes, happens in EVE Online and Starcraft 2 as well.

I'm happy to replace the graphics card if need be, but need to be sure first.

graphical issues like that are normally signs of a defective video card.

rarely can they be caused by a corrupt graphics driver or card not probably seated.

I would uninstall / reinstall graphics drivers.

Reseat the card. (if you feel comfortable doing this)

Replace card.

I have tired uninstall / reinstall graphics drivers and I''m pretty sure the card is seated correctly. But it has been taken in and out of the PC a few times in the past so maybe its been damaged at some point?

It's possible ESD fried some part of it and it is getting defective.

I would just go buy another card and when installing it make sure to wear an AS strap and re-seat it properly.

Based on everything said, it looks like you need a new GPU. Since it's a relatively old model video card, I'll assume that you got your money's worth out of it already, but in any case a $50 replacement will likely outperform it.

A $50 card you say? I want to play Starcraft 2 at decent graphical level, but no looking for top end cards. Any recommendations?
