I'm guessing you use Windows 7? Try running the game as admin (right-click thingy) worked for me.

I got kicked out of SoO at lvl3( with my 7 heros

) and GW wouldn't load, gave me an error. So I just restarted my computer and it worked fine.

Then there was another update, and the same thing happened. So I restarted and it worked again.
