ive never played guild wars before and was hoping to get into it

. i downloaded the trial on the 6th, ive never logged on and when i do try i get the error (=004), i need help guys i want to play this game lol.

Its a network error, did this happen today ? I ask because they did do a server Update on Monday.

its been happening since monday ive never even had a chance to make a character, ive tried to log into on 3 different computers with different accounts

it wont let me login to their since i cant input a character name..... i wish i knew why this was happening

Yes the game has been up. I would agree with the suggestion you try the tech support forum, or even call tech support; because I seriously wonder if you might need to reinstall the progie. Put in about 3 hours today so the servers have been up. BB.

I would say to try and sort this out before you go buy the real game. You don't want the same problem after you have put 30 dollars into it.

There is always a small possibility of your computer security blocking the client.

lost track of the number of full screen applications that hid such a message from my firewall.

i jhust paid 30 dollars for this game and put the serial key in and everything downloaded the game, now when i try to play i try to log in i get =004 error. this is bull, as of right now i feel like i flushed 30 dollars down the drain so please help me.
also do not tell me to post this on the guild wars support forums because it wont let me login to there.
also i dont have a character so i leave that spot blank

I think its more of a techinical error...as code 004 states to try again in a few minutes.
You might need to make sure you are not blocking asses to guildwars...you can get to the offical wiki? http://www.guildwars.com/

well guys i just bought the game thinking it would solve the problem it didnt....
i dont know what would be blocking it ive already made sure that it was an exception in the windows firewall and my anti-virus is microsoft security essentials and i cant find anything about blocking this program in the real time protection.
im getting mad with this game because i wat to play it

and also i think the problem might be because im not entering a name into the character slot, but i dont have any characters, because i should be able to log into the forums but i cant which i think is because i dont have a character, it seems that people are getting it resolved because there saying they have problems and talking to gm's privately but i cant do that so i have no clue what i can do

this is getting me so depressed

the wiki and gw are on the same whatever....if you can get to the wiki its not the connection (yeah sorry not a techie)....just trying to eliminate what it might be.

If you dont have any characters, you should be able to log in with just the email and the password....

did you ADD the codes to the trial account you had???? if so did you create characters on that trial account--if you did then you will need to add that name to the log in security question part.
if you started a whole new account that should not be an issue.

okay i just emailed them hopefully i get a reply. and yes i did continue it from my trial account but i was never even able to log into this account because of the error code =004. also ive had 3 other friends download guild wars in order to try to see if they can play with a trial and none of them can. they all get =004
