They're both overrated, to be honest. If you like using gaming keypads like that, then both would serve you well (Although, I've had bad experiences with Razer myself). Get yourself a decent keyboard with a macro function, like the G15/G19, you'll appreciate it much more.

I have a Nostromo. This is my second one. I bought the first one within a month of them being released, and haven't looked back. Years and years. There is an adjustable palm rest plate that fits my hand perfectly, and feels really comfortable. I use the thumb switch constantly to call various targets for my minions and/or guild mates. I cannot conceive of playing any PC game, particularly Guild Wars without it anymore. Also, I am left handed, and mouse right handed.
Your mileage may vary.

this wouldn't benefit your GW gaming but if you played Starcraft it would benefit your macro loads! I would recemend this for GW

If only they made the key arrangement more user friendly.
The whole point for me of a gaming keyboard is to make it different enough compared to a normal keyboard to make it worth using.
If they just do a block of keys like these two what's the point.
For years now I have used a thrustmaster tac board sadly no longer made its an almost perfect design everything since has been a step back imo.
Was going to replace it with a zboard fang then they stopped making those.
Will someone please make a gaming keyboard with a decent layout, I don't want to have to keep looking down I want to be ably to tell by feel.
Good look in your search

This is coming from someone who has used both in the past....
They are both pretty good so you cant go wrong.
Get the The Logitech G13 over the Nostromo IMHO.
I felt the Logitech G13 had a better design, better thumb-stick, and packs more buttons.
I used it for SC2, and Wow (when I used to play). I had a Nostromo from Belkin (not the Razer one), and I have a Logitech G13 and Razer Naga now.
The G13 was perfect for using Grid on SC2, with the thumb stick for camera control and I used a bartender layout that matched the G13 layout on WoW.
I really dont care about the lcd screen/backlighting (I never look down there anyways), wish they sold one cheaper without it.
But it is pretty nice for like displaying who is speaking in vent/teamspeak.
With the Logitech G13 I found it that you could use either the WADS or thumb-stick for movement, and keys mainly for Skills/Inventory.
With the Nostromo, I felt you pretty much have to use the WADS keys for Movement. Though the thumb stick was good for skills/inventory selection.
Never used the scroll wheel. The Nostromo has less keys, but they felt "crisper"
I haven't played GW in awhile and just returned for the 7 heroes so I haven't made a layout for GW yet but if I had too, I would pick the G13 and use this layout. I usually use the mouse for movement or C+Space on my warrior so.
Top keys (G1-G7) for weapon selection and hero utility skills like fall back.
Middle row keys (G8-G14) for skills. There is only seven across so I would have my 8th skill a skills I use the least (like a Res) and set it somewhere else. The bottom two rows for misc utility and c+space.
Thumbstick for WADS movement, and the two buttons near it for tabbing targets and calling.
You could also setup on macros and maybe have your mutiple keys on one button and use a shifting key to modify.
Pick them according to your priorities
Nostromo: FPS/TPS/Action games (less buttons)
G13: MMO/RTS (more buttons)

Logitech, hands down. I have friends who have (and hate) Razer's products.

TBH the Razer's Nostromo just looks like a re-branding of the Belkin Nostromo Speedpad n52te. So if you particularly dont like razer products it might still be worth a try.
when it comes to 3rd party peripherals I pretty favor logitech's keyboards and razer's mice.
Ive have owned
Logitech Mx518
Logitech G9x
Razer Death-adder
Razer naga
Belkin n52te
Logitech g13
I have used at a gaming cyber cafe.
Logitech G15
Razer Lycosa
I think gaming keyboards are overpriced and not really worth the investment.
Pro korean sc players all use some crappy $20 keyboard, and I dont use macros
I have a cherry switch keyboard.

Having thought about it and watched a few reviews on youtube I think I will be abandoning my tm tac board after some 8 years and getting the Logitech G13.
I will have fewer keys but they can be multifunction and the wasd keys are concave so I will be able to tell by feel.
Glad you started this thread because I think I have found a new game board.
Hope this one lasts as long as the tac board.

I would like to thank everyone that provided information from hands on experiences. I've concluded that the Logitech G13 is slightly superior for those with larger hands. Individuals with smaller hands will probably want to go with the Razer Nostromo.
I will probably be purchasing a Logitech G13 first and maybe a Razer Nostromo for my girlfriend and I will be updating this thread after we've had enough time to get a feel for them.

It would work, but I don't think I'd like it.
The way it's positioned, I wouldn't want to apply constant pressure to it.
It's best set up for slight taps, (like calling targets) not so much tap and holds (like movement.)
Of course, your mileage may vary.
Also, whichever one you get, get some shelf liner and cut a section to fit. If you have a relatively slick desktop like I do, they'll slide around too much.
Particularly once a little dust gets in there. Throw a little shelf liner under the pad, and it'll sit there like it was bolted down.

Sorry for thread necroing...
does anybody know what is the stance of Anet with those items?
I've been gifted a G13, but I'm afraid to use it with GW: could it lead to a ban? (you know, the "can't use automated stuff" rule and so on).
Can you share your experience? Has anyone ever been banned for using a G13 on GW?
I do not plan to use the macros, but there is a software client that "intercepts" which game are you playing and loads the appropriate profile.
Does this client interfere with GW? I don't want to be banned for a false positive.
Thanks a lot in advance.

You will deffinitely not get banned for just using a gaming keyboard itself. Macros are a bright grey area (Anet has stated that they will not ban for using keyboard macros, but it has happened in the past for users who stretch the line of what a macro can actually do ingame such as the drunkard title before the update)
Using the profile function itself does not in any way modify the game, the profile is just a reactive programm which changes how the keyboard buttons are set up. It does not change any data to or from your computer and the servers.
Basic macros (Emotes, emote chains or weapon set changes for example ) will not get you banned either.
