Constant spikes of around 2-3k every few minutes or so with a few 15k+ thrown in. Had quite a few 007s and 058s the last two weeks or so, more than once been kicked and unable to connect for 15-20 minutes.
Uk here.

Yesterday was bad. I was on TS with a guildie and we experienced it at the exact same times, although we were not on the same missions. I live on the North Eastern Coast of the US, and he is in the deep south.
If it matters I'm on Comcast with 10meg down 2 meg up.

Ridiculously long connection times/can't access site
Hello, I've registered so I could get this out:
I know there are other issues like this, but just read on, maybe you know something. I'm getting no errors, but connecting time between areas can be from 12 seconds long to 30 and in things like character generation, I can't get past the choice between RP and PvP characters half the time because it sits there... connecting...
In addition to that, I can't get access the main site or the wiki just like many others. These do work with a proxy, but still.
Now, before you suggest anything, please read what I've done so far:
- My computer CAN run this game. It's not a hard game to run.
- Port forwarded, didn't work
- Unblocked from firewall, didn't work
- Turned down graphical settings and music quality just in case, didn't work.
- Tried every district, didn't work
- Downloaded the entire game via the -image command, loading has nothing to do with it.
- I'm directly connected, I am not utilizing wireless dsl. It's wired in.
Please, I know no answer may come of this, but if you know anything I'm missing, please let me know.
Edit: I just checked and I also can't access the PlayNC website except through a proxy. May be related.

Check your location, run a speedtest for your connection, maybe get a faster net

Have you tried contacting support? Sounds like you put a lot of your own time in trying to get this to work, you may as well have a ticket running to provide suggestions from tecks while trying to figure this out.

Majar lag for almost 4 days now. 007 etc. Disconnecting often and cannot enjoy the game. (United States-South Carolina) There is obviously a major problem going on here as people are having the same problem in all US districts almost every group I get in people are dcing. Guild Wars should get with it. I was going to buy some more accounts but thats on hold now. Was working on a legendary survivor on a tune but scared to do anything with that toon atm. Oh my internet connection is fine.

Oh wow, I'm glad I'm not the only one. This has been going on for at least a week for me. I really paid it no mind since I was mostly just logging in to check to see if anyone was doing anything while complaining about the weird lag, then went back to another game. But I was trying to play today could hardly do anything. I can't log into any character that is in a location that generally has multiple districts, such as Great Temple of Balthazar, Kamadan, Lion's Arch, et al, but can sometimes load places that are generally dead or very few people ever, like Tomb of Primeval Kings and guild halls. It takes forever for anything that does eventually load to load. I haven't even tried doing anything outside of outposts because the lag is so bad and connection errors so frequent.
This has been happening to me on every one of my accounts on multiple computers in two different locations on two different ISPs. The two ISPs and locations are Qwest near Minneapolis, MN, and Charter in St. Cloud, MN.
Everything was working fine before a week ago, and nothing else I usually do has been affected.

It seems to be a consistent problem, but maybe since not enough people are experiencing it, no one's paying attention.
Edit: Until tonight, because I just logged on and am currently experiencing no lag in connecting, creating new characters, or moving from one area to the next. In addition to this, I can now access the GW site, the wiki, and the playNC website. No clue what changed, but it's working like it used to

2. This one is unique to GW. My game ( characters ) totally freeze and no matter what I click nothing happens, my ping says 130 to 150 and all is green, It is like the server just died for 10 seconds. Then when my game becomes responsive again the last 10 seconds play out in less than 1/10 a second ( hyper speed ). I know this is not my internet connection because when this happens I immediately switch to my second PC and quickly log into City of Heroes and everything is fine.
This has only started happening in the last 3 weeks.

the above is essentially my problem as well except its only been a few days since it started.
ISP: windstream
Houston area.

Surprisingly my lag isn't that bad and I happen to have a computer which can barely handle GW and a slow connection too.

I can say with certainty that there's some problem with users from Israel.
I have unbearable lags basically all the time.
I suppose it's better very early in the morning but i didn't get alot of chance to check it out yet.
Basically the situation is that sometimes i can't connect at all (the loading screen after you pick a character freezes on 100% and if i wait long enough i usually get a notification that i lost connection and it asks me whether i want to reconnect or not. I click yes and immediately get an error 007), and other times i can connect but the ping is absurd, getting as high as 50,000 + in populated districts (Of course there's usually an error 007 throwing me out shortly after) and "lower" - as in 5,000 +- when there's only a couple of other people in the district (Less used ones like Polish).
The only time in the last days that i could even move my character around without any significant lag was when i was completely alone in my GH.
My ISP is 014.net and if anyone from ANet is reading i suggest to look into that since many other Israelis have the same issue with this ISP. (I've also contacted my ISP to no avail).
Routing issues maybe? i don't know, but something's gone terribly wrong.

I'm also from Israel and I suffer from similar problems for at least a month. I have a different ISP (bezeqint) so they are probably not the problem. I've also run a tracert check and had good pings upto some french servers.
What seems crazy to me is the fact that I can have reasonable pings (250-450) for an hour and when I change location (zone in/out) -> Kaboom ! 50,000 ms pings ! most of the time though, I just can't connect at all.
By the way, I find it easier to connect to american than to english servers.

Bezeq.int = 014. Same ISP.
And yeah, i recall having better pings at American districts which is extremely odd. But still, nothing actually playable.
