Hi,

I just bought Guild Wars Platinum Edition, but can´t login. I keep runnig into a 042 error (I have figured it´s a server error). I can´t access the official forums, runnig into a 403 error (forbidden), so I can´t even check if something is going on.

Is it just me? Is the game down/under maintenance?

game is working fine, if you are not able to get to the official site you might have a different issue--have you checked everything on your end?

Just making sure but I hope you bought it as a new sealed package and not second hand from some auction site?

I bought it from the NcSoft store. I directly linked it to the ncsoft account and had no problems doing so. Everything looks fine, the game account is listed as playable.

I´ve already posted a support ticket, but who knows how long it will take for them to check it.

Knowing the game servers actually work is an essential piece of information, I will keep checking things.

It could be a number of reasons, maybe your firewall blocking certain ports?

you say you linked it to an existing nc soft account...did that one have gw2 on it? if so use your gw2 password....if its a different game then.....

will think on it.

dont know if it helps any, but put GW.exe on your exception lists of both windows firewall and virus scanner(s)
my GW did work while i didnt do that, but when i put it on the lists, GW runs much faster

also, be sure not to use the same passwords and accountnames as ncsoft (if it is the same, plz dont say it anywhere... people may hack you easily if they know)

if i'm right, you must've used another password and accountname for GW (gw having your email as accountname), unless you did make them the same (again, dont tell anyone you did, if you did)

and yes, the forums are/were offline, as anet stated on facebook and maybe somewhere else

you also could wait til they are up again, and then post it there, maybe will help you better there
