Firstly, calm down. Secondly, is this graphics lag, or are you getting network lag (character "rubber-banding" etc.)?
Rubber-banding is what we call it when the character seems to slide/jump around the screen and whatnot.

Yes ever since the update I also have had unbearable "rubber banding" lag. It is almost impossible to play.

In that case it's either a problem with your networking hardware/settings, your ISP, or ArenaNet's servers.

my network and isp are fine, just his "rubber banding" lag, is horrible, to describe it: sometimes i will just stop, not be able to move or anything, nothing, all i can do is jump to a town, and the lag continues there. or it will do as you described and jump around slide etc, but for like 2-5 minutes on end. then fine for like 5 mins and start all over again. anything you might be able to think of that might be able to help me? ive checked my network and isp, and they are fine, so if it is arenanet, that just sux for me.

It might be the connection in the path between hops from you to Anet. If your ISP appears fine and there is no lightning bolt in the upper corner indicating a streaming update.

Since the update many people may start to download and lag severs? Maybe. Or it's your connection.

Ive been getting that lightning bolt in the upper corner. It shows up, then dissapears for awhile, then shows up again. Does that mean streaming update, or bad connection. I use Direcway Sattellite Internet, and it does have a few second delay, and is horrible for FPS, but has worked beautifully with WoW, DAoC, FFXI, AO, and other MMORPG's, so I dont see why im getting this horrible rubberbanding lag. Any help would be appreciated, and if it is the "Streaming Update" how long does it take for it to finish, so that lag will go away?
Ive also turned off all auto updating features on programs, and turned off Steam, Messenger, and all other programs that could possibly be using bandwidth. Even that hasnt helped, but like I said, even with those turned on, WoW, DAoC, FFXI, and others worked wonderfully.
Its kinda of embarresing when my buddy with dial up gets better performance than I do.
My specs, if needed, are as follows.
Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Series With Pentium 4 3.0ghz with HT. Intel 865PE chipset
Sapphire ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256 MB AGP 8x Graphics
1GB Corsair DDR 400 (PC 3200) Ram
I do have a cooling problem, which will be remedied soon, but again, WoW works fine with the temp I have ATM, so this should as well, ive also tried puttting graphics to the lowest setting, and I Still get the lag. Hope all this helps.

add -perfs to your GW shortcut (mine is "C:\Games\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -perfs). That way you can see how much FPS you get & how much is sent to server.
Lightning bolt icon is used when something is downloading or checking for update (you can see how many kb are downloading while updating).Thats my experience with that icon.

yeah, but like I said, it doesnt stay up, the lightning bolt hides itself and stuff....maybe I should just leave it running overnight, and see if thatll fix it. It be nice if it was static, so I COULD see how much its downloading. Or at least they should offer a manual patch for those of us who could use it.

I notice you are running a 9200 Ati card.
here is some advice which i can just about bet it will help, if not fix most of your problem.
Go to the In-Game options menu, and put the graphics slider all the way down to "Fastest". Then open the advanced button and click "Auto-detect".
This will keep the settings low, while giving better quality in some areas.
Don't turn your nose up, it worked for me, i vertually have no lag now!
