energy bug with repetitive casting
I've been working on some ritualist cycles at Balth Temple (since the recent changes) and I noticed something I think is a bug with the way the engine is handling energy - near continuous casting over a period of minutes exibits something that I'll describe as 'like a memory leak' but in the characters mana. Initially, everything works as you would expect, a 15e skill can be cast with only 15e in the bar - but as time went on, this changed.. First to having to have 16e showing to successfully cast a 15e skill (and I thought I was miskeying), but then 17e, and 18... The skills cost is accurate - casting takes the stated cost in e from the bar, but attempting to trigger the skill with only the cast amount showing produced a 'not enough energy' cast failure. After some minutes I was at a point where I had to have 30 mana showing to successfuly cast a 25 mana skill.
'Resting' for a short while seems to reset whatever it is, but near continuous casting leads to it getting worse over time.
Tested further with a guildie, he suffers the same effect. In use was a ritualist/ranger with 13 spawning, 14 communing and 6 restoration cycling: shelter, union, life, displacement, serpent's quickness, Spirit Channeling and doom as skills came up and energy permitted.
update:
- further testing confirms the effect, I have yet to find if it has a 'ceiling', but a looong cycle pushed it to the point I needed to have 40e showing for a 25 cast, (and 11e for a 5e cast)
- a guild monk reports suffering it in AB, now that she knows what to look for.
- support job lodged, will advise any response(s)
