Exact same thing. Locked me up in Vabbi somewhere about 3 hours ago and I cant get back on. Error 058 every time. Did a trace and everything seems okay. Renewed IP, tried a dozen things and no solution. The rest of the internet works fine for me...

This error tends to crop up from time to time. When it happens over and over again, it becomes rather frustrating.
Well, here's what has worked for me:
-Cable Modem/Router is rebooted
-Network cable is disconnected and reconnected
-Computer is powered off/rebooted
-IPCONFIG /flushdns is performed
Once one, several or all of these things is done, the problem goes away.
It could very well just be a transient net condition that will go away over time, but I have found the things listed above probable, though not proven, cures.

hey, i have been having a similar problem the last few months...
when i try logging into GW it just says "connecting..." and it does the same when i try logging onto a character, if i get that far.
it happened last month for the first time, after i had a problem with the graphics, which has now been sorted out.
sometimes it comes up with error 058.
things i have tried:
connecting to GW via the modem (am on wireless)
restting both router and modem
port forwarding
spoken to ISP - found nothing on the line
tried a friends account on my pc (had the same problem)
tried my account on a friends pc - worked first time
tried re-installing GW (didnt work)
playing WoW - works fine
so far i have managed to figure out that during big updates and/or special weekend events is when its more likely to happen, and that it only happens with SOME IP adresses on the GW server...when these problems dont occur i can play the game fine...
i know its not the same problem but they seem similar...if anyone could suggest a reason as to why this is happening or how it can stop, i would be very thankful...laters

Tried those things too. Strangely, I have been playing for 1.5 years and this has never happened. It occurred suddenly without warning while I was playing, while I had no other programs running.
