I live in Germany and since the last "routing optimizations", the game was playable for one or two days, but then it started to lag again.
Just another wasted Event Weekend, like the last one. But I really don't care about them, as long as the lag gets fixed.
Maybe I should send a logfile to the support, but as I understand ArenaNet can't do much about the problem.

I swear I will start killing kittens for every hour I have lag!
But seriously guys, no need to start threatening them.
They said it themselves: it's out of their immediate reach.
Besides, it's AFK weekend, so you don't even need a good ping to "play".

Maybe this is the new PvP balancing initiative? By preventing the entire continent of Europe from playing the game, other regions should win favour more often.
Seriously though, this situation is getting beyond a joke now. I tried pugging my new monk through some of the Prophecies missions last night and let me just say that trying to heal a party of mending wammos and tanking eles with an average ping of around 1000ms is somewhat stressful to say the least.

Lol, and because they said so you trust them 100%? Answer yourself. Do you have lags in any other games/services? I'm 100% sure you dont.
Ahh, and one more thing. Ppl who previously didnt have lags started to have them yesterday. OMG IT MUST BE SOME CONSPIRACY THEORY. NOW EVERY ISP STARTED TO ROUTE THROUGH THAT BAD ROUTER IN GERMANY.

I just did Eternal Grove as monk and it took be 3 mins to load in and I lagged throughout. I had to find a PuG in Europe because Int. was empty.
Any news other than the network news on the website? It's really getting irritating and I'm losing hair from stress.

Me and a friend both play from Germany, use the European server and the English districts as default. We've been getting lag all through the last week, spiking today like crazy.

Why would they lie?
The main connection hub for Germany and nearby countries is located in Frankfurt.
So unless you live somewhere completely different, you're affected by this problem.
I live in Belgium, I'm obviously affected.

One thing though, is that I (and many other people, I'm sure) would at least like an ETA towards when we can expect normal network activity.

That's all I want too. A bit of community relation.
Unwaking Waters [mission] must put me in the Euro server even when I start from International districts. Could be something to do with the two-team scenario. Until this so called routing problem is fixed, I can't do that mission.
I'd send a ticket to support but I know what they'll say and I know that there's a Frankfurt routing issue. Even if it is not within their direct control, thet are the only people that can do something about it. I can't enjoy afk-ring weekend like this.

Today it started again. Everything was fine till and hour or 2 ago. Even got me a good error 7 again while being on the nine rings (not afk at the moment though). But the bright side is I didn't lose points in the lucky title this time.

Well, it is the afk weekend after all, so don't expect network latency to be stellar across the board(walk).
Bwaha. I kill myself.
In other news, I'll go do something else.
Too bad the weather's crap as well.

I was really looking forward to the Dragon Festival, the rollerbeetles and Dragon's Nest, and now I can't do anything.
I'm very grateful for events like this (the double dye drop weekend was the best ever) but you have to be able to play to enjoy it...
I hope this gets fixed soon, because this really sucks.

Doh, after the second error 7 on nine rings I went to the international districts, trying my luck there. But I take it that's not going to matter mutch? Oh well, so far my ping there is a steady shade of orange. Anything beats the sudden 11k ping I had in the EU districts at one point

Whether you're in the European or International district, you're still connected to the same faulty network hub.
I'm not 100% sure on this, but even if you switch territories to America or Korea, for instance, you'll STILL connect to the geographically closest hub.

No this is not a fact, i traced the ID server, and u get a completely different route. So thats why I went ID, high ping but no lag spikes and DC's

The timing between lag spikes is getting less and less, its every few seconds for me right now, and instead of being in the orange when it spikes at around 600 ping, its pretty much in the range of 5k+ ping today. Its getting stupid now, sure i can go without playing tournaments everyday for a few days, but to miss a weekend event that only happens once a year because of the lag isn't acceptable.
I also don't believe that changing districts has any effect. Its still the same in the international districts.
