Weapons and Adrenaline
What is the delay when swapping weapons?
Can you build Adrenaline for your Sword attacks while you are using a bow? Can you build adrenaline for your Hammer attacks while using a Sword? Is it a viable option to put points into both Sword and Hammer to use skills from both? -Pyx |

I didn't even notice a delay when I last used switch heavily, switching between swords for extra bonuses. Maybe it's changed since then, but it was negligable as far as I was concerned. As for the bow attacks, no idea, I thought only melee weapons built up adrenaline. Sword attacks will build up adrenaline, and as far as I know it simply lasts through it's duration, regardless of whether or not you switch weapons or run around during that time. As to the last question...I wouldn't. Pick one and stick with it, it gives you more options for the rest of your attributes, given that you'll definitely need strength, and may want tactics as well if you're using a single handed weapon, and not a tower shield. Beyond that, you'll certainly want at least one other attribute to complement your warrior skills, meaning that you're likely now spreading your points between 5 attributes, something I definitely wouldn't recommend normally.

Swords and axes swing once every 1.33 seconds, hammers, wands, and staves every 1.75, bows vary between 2~3 seconds depending on type. Quote:

As Morgant says, it's splitting your attributes. And attributes are extremely important to you as a weapon swinging Warrior. It's not just that a higher Swords or higher Hammers lets you meet requirements, it's that as you get higher you also get closer to doing the damage displayed on your weapon rather than some percentage of it. Look at the table in Ensign's mechanics essay on weapon attributes for a more exct accounting but in general each rank in your weapon attribute is worth about 9~10% more damage. Until 12 when you get to around 100%, after that the returns drop off. So, the "sweet spot" for a weapon attribute is 12. If you plan on using a weapon you need to using it at 12, period. Strength is a similar story. Then, of course, you get to the issue that you only have 8 skills on your bar and using two weapon lines means splitting that even further. It's weakening your character because you've split up an important role in two different ways. It's better to concentrate on each of your character's roles - in this case, swinging a weapon - as much as you can, to focus in on it, and then add other, different roles like tanking from Tactics or range from Air Magic to compliment that role. Perhaps it might work to take a sword at 0 to rapidly build up adren for your Hammer skills - which at at 12 - but I'd rather more damage dealing swings, even if they are slower, there are other, better ways of getting adren like Baltahazar's Spirit or Dark Fury or even something that increases your swing rate like Frenzy or Flurry.

Thanks for the replies,
Was just thinking of going with strength, sword, and hammer. Using sword mainly for fast swing rate, and then switch to hammer when adrenaline is filled. Sword rate is 24% faster right? and I still could use frenzy or flurry to increase that. Would allow for a warrior to use more skills faster. Any additional skills could just not be attribute based. Thought the idea would have some merit if it worked, sounds like it does work, but you guys still think it isn't worth doing. That is good to know, and exactly why I posed the question here. Thanks! -Pyx |

Yeah, the best attribute distribution for Strength/Swords/Hammer would be Strength 12(11+1)/Swords 12(10+2)/Hammers 11(10+1). Of course, to get that you need to find the runes and all that first, which can be a hastle. You want those attributes as high as possible. And the difference between Hammers at 11 and Hammers at 12 is that important to make it seem like a questionable move. It might not be that bad and even without runes you're talking 11/10/10.
Not something I'd do myself, I prefer to branch out a bit more and include Blood or Healing or something on my Warriors for the diversity but it could be interesting to see if it would work.
