Pet details
For a while, I was hoping for some pet controls like those provided in EQ, DAoC, WoW, etc. Eventually, though, I grew to like the fact that pets act more or less on their own, especially if they enhance the AI of the different pet evolutions (playful, agressive, elder, etc.) so that they all act differently.
The only exception to this, is that I'd like to see an option to toggle agressiveness off and on. It's very frustrating and, occasionally, detrimental to my group when my pet suddenly decides to attack some nearby creature whether I want it to or not. Perhaps this option could be something that only becomes available after your pet has reached its first evolution, or whatever you want to call it. Perhaps your pet needs to gain a few levels first. However it's done, I'd like to see some way to tell it to stay put. Does anyone else think this is a good idea, or is it too disruptive to the notion of pets having minds of their own? |

I think it is a good idea. I found my melandru stalker annoying sometimes, mostly when it started to attack pacific Moa birds or wolfes by itself. I would appreciate to be able to keep a certain level of control over it. Maybe I could find a leash or a collar in somewhere to keep it near me?

I like the stalker doing that . One thing I noticed during the BWE is that if you have the stalker in view it doesn't attack unless you do. Turn your back on it, however... then it decides it would like some lunch.

Not true Alex......not for me anyway, many times it would go after a strider/moa bird just wandering nearby even though it was certainly in my sight and I wasn't attacking the bird. It was kinda funny at first....then it degraded to annoying followed by frustrating.
Cats, birds and dogs.....all on the same map, what more do you need to say really? |

I've been asking for these, at least some simple ones such as patrol, stay, follow, and attack target for a long time. I can't stand to bring a pet because most of the time it aggros something I'm not ready to fight.
