Deathly Swarm question
Deathly Swarm
Description: Deathly Swarm flies out slowly and strikes for 15-67 cold damage (before armor) on up to three targets. Energy Cost: 10 Activation Time: 3 Seconds. Recharge Time: 3 Seconds. My question is that Deathly swarm it says that you can cast the spell on up to 3 targets. How do you target more than one person at a time? |

You don't. You target one. Deathly Swarm then moves on to two more targets close enough to the original one. If there aren't any, you only damage that initial target.
Also note there no real "flying out" animation, at least as far as I've seen. You cast Deathly Swarm, a few seconds later there's a black hex/cloud thing at the target, they take damage, then a few seconds later another cloud at another target, and so on...

well i know you have your question answerd, but if you are considering deathly swarm in your build i say no no no no no. this is a hex you get in the pre-searing ascalon. it is ok untill you get new skills, but i say get rid of it as soon as you can. like 1/5 cast actually worked for me. it takes the longest time to cast posible, ill edit more later but i have to go real bad
edit- ok sorry i had your a lazy ass talk from my mom, but as i was saying, it takes along time to cast (at least to me) and it is easily disrupted. well i just say stay away from this skill if you can. but, its really a matter of personal oppinion but i didnt play necro for too long, so i might have the wrong view of it edit edit- well as i said its a matter of personal oppinion and that is my personal oppinion, and it doesnt have to afect yours Last edited by Whosa Skylore; Mar 10, 2005 at 03:47 AM // 03:47.. |

Thanks for your reply i always wondered what it meant by targeting 3 people.
Whosa Skylore why is deathly swarm a bad skill it does a good amount of damage. If you get your death magic up to 15 it deals 80 damage a swing and if you continuously cast it you do 80 damage every six seconds.what i was planing on doing is having death magic 15(12+rune and scar patern) and blood magic 13(12+rune). So you keep casting Deathly swarm and life syphon to deal a lot of damage. |

Deathly Swarm takes 3 seconds to cast, for one... also, it says it moves slowly towards the target.
Besides, there are much better skills that Deathly Swarm for just straight damage. A lot of people aren't big fans of Death Magic, anyway... but if that's where you want to take your build, go with it.

Deathly Swarm may be acceptable if you have a Me/Ne with Fast Cast. The BIG downside is that you have to put points into Death Magic to get the best effect.

Me/Ne works well with death magic (in pve at least) because you raise minions much faster with fast casting.
