warrior/ elementalist or warrior/mesmer
hey, i was just wondering which would be a bettr combination~
i want a warrior that is good in combat with quick speed and attack. I want to have some magic that deals nice damage like lightning or something. Also i was wondering if :: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content...ior-id1055.php :: is any good.i really dont get wat Illusionary Weaponry {E} does. it says u do no damage but u do like 30 damage each time~ that means ur enemy can still hit u... also isnt that damage less that a normal phisical attack? say i use Flurry and then a power attack which does more damage would that work? so like more faster attacks and more damage to compensate for the less damage i do with flurry~ i basicly want a good strong and quick warrior combined with some nice spells and spells that gets rid of negative conditions. so like if im slowed i can get rid of it~ thnx |

Here is the full write up for the illusionary weapon. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content...ior-id1057.php
I am tempted to try this build for the March BWE. From what I understand, IW deals the damage, NOT taking into account the damage rate of your physical weapon. So say if IW does 30 dmg, and your weapon does 40, you'll still only do 30 points worth of damage. From what you were saying about wanting a warrior with agility and speed and also deal magic damage, I would suggest you go with a W/Ele. |

Illusionary Weaponry featured heavily in the second Build Review. Basically, IW replaces your weapons damage with its own. That IW damage is generally higher than most weapons and it has the added benefit of ignoring armor. It's also not considered weapon damage so it ignores a lot of other defenses. But, since it's not weapon damage it also changes the way you use a lot of other skills, too.
As for what to play, I'd suggest you try them both out and see which one is the one you like best.

W/E is going to leave you with a lot less choices of builds and strategies than W/Me. I've never played a W/Me, but my first character was a W/E, and while he was very fun to play, the fact was I was mainly just a pure warrior with a conjure spell.
W/Me will give you some bonus power against other players on a more specific level, ie, can really mess up casters and/or other tanks. Of course, everyone is different, and maybe you won't find the W/Me as fun as you hoped for. It can be the case at times. You may find an appealing build that is strong, but it just isn't to your style of play. Try both out. And if warrior is your definate primary, I suggest trying out the other secondaries if you haven't already, specifically monk and necro since you want a warrior with magic. Have fun

A spell that is going to leave you with negative effects would be a Hex. If you want to have spells that you can use on yourself to get rid of the bad effects, then you would want to be a Mesmer and not an Elementalist.
I think Inspired Hex would be good for a warrior since, as long as you have a high attribute number in Illusion Magic, you could actually gain energy from getting rid of the hex. This is good since warriors have the worst energy. Inspired Hex - Remove a hex from target ally and gain 3-13 energy. For 20 seconds, Inspired Hex is replaced with the hex that was removed.
