New to GW, I have many Questions!!! Please Read
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have some questions about this game. 1) There are 5 classes I think, are there many spells per each class. 2) Can any1 give me a better summary of the classes then the website? 3) Are you beta players enjoying the game? 4) How are the graphics and gameplay? 5) What are some cool features of this game? 6) What classes do you recommend? 7) I currently come from World of Warcraft, can anyone compare GW to WoW? 8) Is the beta only every weekend? Or if you preorder the game you get beta until release? Thanks, Looking forward to GW. If so how many? 10) Is there an auction house like other games? 11) Are there NPC factions? (ie in WoW horde/alliance) 12) Does it cost money to start a guild, can you build guild halls, player cities, our player housing. 13) Is the world of GW large? 14) Can you ride on a boat, or fly via some animal? I know this is a lot to ask, but I am very intersted in this game. And if this appeals to me, I am going to tell many of my friends at school about this game =) |

Because I thought it was in wrong section when I posted it last time, and did not see this section the 1st time. Ok i read the guru thing, and have some unanswered questions I would like to ask
what are some methods of transportation you can have 2 proffesions, what level do you get then 2nd and are there leveling or any penalties about them(Can you get both to 20, like 20 elementalist/20necromancer at the same time) are there many weapons and armor? are there subclasses, in each proffesion (necromancer who specializes in one particular part skill tree is called something else) Is it hard to get to level 20, how much xp do you need per level, and what is the leveling like. Is the world big are there guild halls/player housing? |

20 fast
you cant simply level grind into an uber squash em character no penalty for 2nd profession you have your second profession as soon as you choose it and your first skills are given to you for doing a simple wuest by a trainer of that profession transportation by foot to any new place after that you can map click that place and teleport no death penalty on exp items gold only temp 15 % health/energy each death topping at 60% which is eliminated on returning to any town or outpost you dont level up skills you distribute 200 atribute points as you level and related skils gain ower Last edited by Loviatar; Mar 17, 2005 at 08:20 PM // 20:20.. |

Just to clarify on the transportation. You can instantly transport to towns, outposts, and staging areas for missions that you come across. You can't transport "anywhere". There are specific symbols that are like waypoints on the world map. So if you have to go to a specific part of an explorable area you can warp to the closest possible town or outpost (so long as you have been there before) then walk to where you need to go.

1) there are 6 classes. Each class has roughly 75 skills which means that you have access to 150 skills for every class combination you make (primary + secondary like Ranger/Mesmer) 2) this site has great summaries of each class. look at the home page and stuff... Quote:
4) Gameplay is awesome, and the screenshots don't do the graphics justice. 5) Uhh... The game is perfectly (or getting there), there are an assload of skills, it's tactical minded, the level cap is 20 (i say that's a feature because it kicks ass!), and the game has no monthly fees.. (probly why you're looking at it) Quote:
Unlike World of Imbalance, this game doesn't suck. Every class is good. There is no sucky class. There is not a huge overwhelming majority of one class because one class owns all. WoW Sucks. GW rules. Pick your favorite class based on what you think is cool. 8) The betas are once a month for 3 days. The next one starts tomarrow Quote:
10) They're still implimenting the economic typed stuff. Auction houses are certainly an option. 11) Nope. Well... You can only be Human, but there are many NPC types. Charr, Tengu, Undead, and so on, but they don't matter as "factions" because you're a human and they're all enemies. 12) It costs money to start a guild: 50 gold and a Celestial Cigil which can be won by holding the Hall of Heroes (final stage of the Tombs)... You can also buy the Cigil but it's more rewarding to win it by yourself. You automatically get a guild hall when you start a guild hall... no player owned housing... no holding cities... yet. Quote:
14) You have to take a Ferry or two to get to places sometimes (usually to get to a PvP arena) but the game is insta-travel. Ever seen the map? There are these little pin-head things that mark Cities and Outposts and if you've been there before, you can travel there instantly with no rune requirement or anything stupid like that. Just open map and click. |

So you are on a GWGuru, a website about Guild Wars, with a great screenshot and skill database, with lots of strategic articles and you ask how the graphics look like?
Yeah, RTFS. Last edited by DEATH AT THE DOOR; Mar 17, 2005 at 09:24 PM // 21:24.. Reason: Edited to something less flaming |

Well I am at school, on the laptop they give us and it loads so slow I can't see them. Otherwise I woulnd't have asked lol.
Nother question lol. Can you change proffesions at any time, or do you have to make a new character. and I pre-ordered GW from EBGames.com . Will they send me a Beta Code, or will it come via email? I really want to play in the Beta Weekend Event tomorrow!!!!!!!!!! So I hope it comes by email. Any other ways to get a Beta Code by tomorrow if it doesn't come, I would really like to test this game out. |

i just looked at ebgames.com and the only thing i found was the regular and deluxe retail preorder boxes which had a april 26th shipping date and no mention of beta events in the list of contents
the preorder beta box is separate from the retail and that box price is applied to the the retail when it comes out you might wish to verify what you bought in case i missed something |
