Powerhouse Ranger (Super Sniper)
Ok, now that I've researched a decent War/Nec Offensive Tank/disruption build, I'm looking for info on how to start a Super Sniper character.
A ranger that snipes, literally killing my targets with as much speed and precision as possible. DoT won't cut it, I want raw "holy karp that hurts" style damage where my enemy is dead before they get a chance to blurt that phrase. From what I've read on forums here and there and other websites, I've decided to take the route of Ranger/Elementalist. Ranger/Warrior was said to be good for attackspeed but I already have a class that's primary Warrior. Some hints I were given were Mark of Rodgort + Conjure Flame = Deadly shots. From my character simulator, I ended up with something like this. [wish I could use more elementalist skills] -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Class: Ranger / Elementalist Attributes: (cost) '+' indicates Rune attributes Expertise: 10 (61) Beast Mastery: 1 (1) Marksmanship: 10+2 (61) Wilderness Survival: 5+1 (15) Earth Magic: 1 (1) Fire Magic: 10 (61) Total attribute points used: 200/200 Skills: [Attribute] (Energy, Cast Time, Recharge TIme) 1) Marksman's Wager [Expertise] (5,2,24) For 12 seconds, you gain 8 energy whenever your arrows hit, but lose 10 energy whenever your arrows fail to strike. This is an elite skill. 2) Read the Wind [Marksmanship] (5,2,12) For 12 seconds, your arrows move faster than normal and deal 15 extra damage. 3) Hunter's Shot [Marksmanship] (10,0,5) If Hunter's Shot hits, you strike for +23 damage. If this attack hits a moving foe, that foe begins bleeding for 21 seconds. 4) Precision Shot [Marksmanship] (15,0,3) If Precision Shot hits, you strike for +24 damage. Precision Shot cannot be blocked or evaded. This action is easily interrupted. 5) Troll Unguent [Wilderness Survival] (5,3,10) For 10 seconds, you gain health regeneration +6. 6) Conjure Flame [Fire Magic] (10,1,60) Lose all enchantments. For 60 seconds, your attacks strike for an additional 11 fire damage. 7) Mark of Rodgort [Fire Magic] (25,2,20) For 16 seconds, whenever target foe is struck for fire damage, that foe is set on fire for 3 seconds. 8) Antidote Signet [Wilderness Survival] (0,2,8) Cleanse yourself of poison, disease and blindness. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- For now, Antidote signet is for obvious reasons. Are there other ways I can increase/maximize damage potential here without losing my healing [Troll Unguent] or health protection [Antidote Signet]? marksman's wager... if you hit..you get energy boost...if you miss... it cripples your energy reserves....
for pure damage?.. could try penetrating shot instead of that one.... (shot has 50% armor penetration).. that would put a direct boost on output.. wouldn't gamble your enrgy reserve either. and yes, I realize its elite,.. but it's not what I think you're looking for |

Hmm you probably dont need the antidote signet,, since you are in back sniping, so you should replace that with penetrating shot, and i odnt reccomend troll ungent but that isnt tottaly useless. of course that is for PvP when you have a healer with you, if you plan to solo, then you definetly need the healing and stuff, and maybe some speedboosts if you can find any.

From what I've read, Read the Wind works alongside Marksman's Wager since my arrows fly faster making them harder to dodge and deal more damage, my chance at missing goes down so I don't see why anyone would consider this a bad skill.
