it looks complicated but it's really not. All he's doing is giving you all the different attribute breakdowns in different distributions.

My best guess is that it's explaining how to distribute the points for max efficency, with a stress on that fact that dividing them evenly leaves you A: weaker in some areas that will be important on the field, and too strong in areas with little practical use and B: with points not being used, because X points won't divide into Y catagories evenly, there's always Z left over. (Unless Z=0, of course, but my algebra isn't good enough to go into that.) Practical upshot: When you have decided what areas to focus your character's career towards, this will let you know what catagories to put points into. If you're a "healing" monk, say, rather than a "defending" monk, you want to put more points into healing than into defence. Either way, tossing some points into divine (which doesn't do anything active, but it adds a bonus to your healing, no matter what) is a good plan too. The game gives you some opportunity to experiment, take careful advantage of it. Did this help? Dave III |

The March BWE I made 2 seperate PvE toons, one was for pickup groups and soloing and the other I used when I grouped up with my friends because our skills complimented each other and made the adventuring a bit easier and more enjoyable. - Iczer |

Remember that you can buy back attribute points which adds to the flexibility of your character. In therory it would be possible to alter them before a pvp match, mission,or quest to better accomidate your party.

yes, but at the most you will only have enough attributes to change one set of attributes out completely so if you wanted to change from say earth and water to air and fire you would not be able to do that.
Also once you use attribute refunds, they are gone and you will have to quest to earn them back. This is where I think PvP characters are different. I think you will be able to change attributes on PvP characters any time you please. |

I thought you could remove attribute points from one skill and place them on another. No? I don't get what you mean. |

but you can only shift 1 level/refund point after you made a partial switch it would need replenishing refund points before more switching NOTE i had 25 refund points last beta not 10 points which would let me refund both air and water in that example i think |

You get refund points for killing mobs and i think doing missions and quests. You spend the refund points to alter the point spread on your attributes. If you have enough refund points you can completely change like from air magic(10) to fire magic(10) or any other attribute from your primary and secondary. The more refund points you have the more you can change the attribute distribution.

Attribute distribution does not make a player hardcore...
When you actually use your calculator to get the most damage out of a caracter using those formulae, YOU ARE HARDCORE. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content...nics-id674.php |

Personally I think you're hardcore if you can beat the "mathmaticians" in Guild Wars without playing the game like it's work... When it comes down to skill, not number cruntching. Then you're "HARDCORE" in my eyes.

Curse you math, math is for smart people. Not me, I prefer the good old fashioned "guess something random and hope it turns out for the best". Hence the reason why I play so many FPSs.
