Where in Regent valley are the bears? I found bears in Green Hills County (couldn't collect their hides), but didn't see a single bear in Regent Valley.

there are tons of bears in wizard's folly. it doesnt matter where you kill the bears, the bear skin is a rare drop from any bear.

got that right ih ad to kil 50+ bears for that damn quest, and its really not worth it either, something like 250 or 500xp..., but yea wizard's folly has about 20+ bears around it

The bears in Regent valley are about as far south as you can go. When you get in the area you will start hearing the bear hunters. The bears are back up behind them. There are only 2 bears. Thats where I got the bear skin for the quest. Also there is a collector with the bear hunters that gives hides for 5 hunter's trophies.

Are the Bear Hunters in the south of Regent Valley as well? I take it they are bad? So I can kill bear in Green Hills or Wizards Folloy till I get the hide and still complete the quest? I killed 7 in Green Hills but none dropped anything so I figured it had to be a bear from Regent Valley.

A side question....Can you get to Fort Rannik in Pre-Sear? If so, what is there?

I got about half a dozen hides by wizards folly.

just go into the woods to your left at the elementals as you head to the folly

lots of bears all over

Yes. There are a few NPCs, and there is also a quest to deliver something to an NPC there.

The bear hunters just stand around. They will give you a quest to kill a bear in a limited amount of time. If you do it they give you a Hunter's Ale so you can stand around and drink with them.
The main reason to find them is the collector that's with them. He is the only one I've found to get hides from. You'll need the hides for better armor if you to the Acadamy.

Yes the bear hunters are in the southern end of Regents Valley.
