In a related question, are there naming policies against being named:
Teh Pwnzor -or- Captain McOwnzor I haven't seen anything about it on the official site, can someone clear this up? I just ph34r the release if there isn't a policy. |

I believe if any name can obviously be seen as offensive it is not acceptable.

18 characters and one space for total of 19
any combination of spaces and characters can be feasibly used so long as atleast one space is in there...ergo..you MUST have a 2 name character. T H E G R E A T B E Y O N D E R (even something like this..as long as it is no more than 19 long in total) as far as ettiquette?.. figure if you wouldn't use it (you think it offensive or poor taste)...don't think they will let you either hope that helps |

They have said in the past they will be very lienent with names and even sexual inuendos will be toleratated. I think they said only names which are highly offensive will be delt with.

I really hope I dont see people with stupid names running around. I hope the naming filter does a good job.

Im sure you'll see tons of players with silly names. Remember, free to play. Id hate to say it, but once this game goes public, the community is gonna be downright awful. Fourtantly, WOW attracted most of the BNet kiddies, which takes some pressure off GW...for now.

Hopefully the ignore list will be a rather larger available amount than the friends list at release. There was a poll about ignore actually making their entire graphic disappear so you don't even know they are there, and they can't type to you, nothing. They're gone. If they do that, offensive names, etc. easy to get rid of.

If you're going for a name in all caps, the most you would be able to have is 10 letters. |

hehe.. I know that mario...which is why I stated in parenthesis..as long as it is no more than 19 TOTAL in length
But as an admin pointed out to me in a previous thread on this same subject. A person could feasibly write their name in that "style". That was there purely as an example of it. |
