Game Servers
I have some friends, and some friend's of friends who are all getting guild wars. Unfortuneately, I think it'd be hard to co-ordinate which server everyone will go on when it launches, since they will be eager to play. Because of this, I was wondering if it was at all possible to get a server listing before the game came out so we could all choose the same server.
Thanks =) |

From what I know, there won't be servers per se. What you get is each town/city has 'districts' which you are normally assigned to when you enter. You have the ability to switch what district you are in. You and your friends only have to choose the same district and you'll be with each other.

there are no separate shards but there now seems to be a us side and a eu side but communication is not affected edit you can always meet in the international district to play safe |

Districts are simply different "instances" of the same zone/city/etc. As the previous poster stated, you can still send and receive whispers and guild chat to each other regardless of which district you are in. If your friend is in district 9 and you are in district 4, all you have to do is choose district 9 from your drop-down list of districts. This is accessible from within the game in the top left corner of the window by default. You choose the district and it "teleports" you there. Everyone plays in the same world.
