Ranger Pets
I experimented with a ranger this BWE and was wondering about what pets you guys have had? What are the best pets you have seen? Any info would be nice.

If you start out from Pre-Seared, the only pet you can get is the Melandru Stalker. Sadly, you can't charm the bears in this area. As you move towards Lion's Arch, you can charm the Moa birds, and then the lynxes and wolves later.
I don't play a ranger so my info is second hand, but my friend loves her lynx. Edited: Oops, my bad about the other charmable animals. Last edited by Joysze; Apr 19, 2005 at 03:00 AM // 03:00.. |

Has any one heard of attaining 'unusual' pets? I was wondering if there would be something outside of the usual 'mamal' and 'bird' species..... like a drake? I know they wont throw in the drake but something along those lines.... mystical, thats it... 'mystical'.

So, there's the "birds", the pig/boar, and wolves... does anyone know if anymore are planned for the release?

I've played Ranger as secondary or primary for three events now and the best pet was the snow wolf. I'm partial to them over the cats just based on looks though. They have made great improvements in regards to the pets not drawing in unwanted enemies or fighting everything it comes near. But you also have to tell it to attack even if there is an enemy right next to it pounding on a team mate.

Pets are stupid, reason I quit a Ranger. You cant get them to attack before you do, so you always end up with aggro. Its just a pain.

I had no problems getting them to attack. The trick to it is you have to highlight an enemy either by clicking on them or tabbing so it's health bar is shown on the top center of your screen and then hit the spcae bar. If your using skills / spells they pet may not attack as some do not need line of sight to be used so the pet doesn't look for the enemy.

So just a quick question, how do you get rid of a pet once you have one? So that you can get a different one?
This last weekend, I also saw some spiders that were green dot friendly, although they did not register as an animal so I don't think they were charmable.... |

There are character's in game, usually named Tamer's, that you talk to and they will let you drop your current pet.
