A few questions:

1> For some reason, I'm unable to give her the flute, and so it seems I can't get the tapestry shard. Quantity of items certainly isn't an issue, as I've given her the cape and over twenty flowers.

2> Speaking of . . . what exactly is the tapestry shard for? If I recall it's marked as a quest item, so it's gotta be for SOMETHING interesting . . . anyone figure it out yet?

I'm curious, are you supposed to give her at least 20 flowers? I hadn't played before last night, so I'm learning as I go.

I never really understood what i was supposed to do with gwen, but did you give her a red cape already? she seemed to like that

also, i believe the flute was broken and you have to find a way to repair it.
Dunno if any of this still makes sense, i don't have the game yet.

yOU first have to find her fbroken flute before you can give her the new one. As far as what this does or the cape, I still have no idea.

I figured she'd leave once i got her flute and all, but she didn't, that made it a little weird.

She basically just starts liking you more and more as you give her the broken flute, whole flute, flowers and the cape. First, she will follow you around then she will dance and play the flute and heal you a bit while fighting, then she will give you the tapestry shard and finally she will actually follow you through the zones in pre-searing and heal you as you go.

I have no clue what the whole tapstry shard thing is for.

It's a tapestry shred, not shard. A shard is a sharp pointy thing.
As to why you couldn't give her the flute, perhaps you made a party with someone who had already given her the flute, and then you saw her with it and so now she doesn't need it.
I got the tapestry shred by giving her the flute, two flowers and the cape.

I think the tapestry shred/ard is the key...her company is not worth 300g in my estimation.

Do you ever get rid of her? I have only given her 2 flowers and the broken flute, but today I will try giving her the rest of the stuff.

You do NOT have to buy her the cape. I retrieved her broken flute, bought her a new flute, and gave her around 7 flowers and she was following me around healing me and she also gave me the tapestry shred.

Still be nice if someone knew what to do with the dang tapestry (shred, shard, scrap, etc.).
