question about game
I'm coming from Shadowbane a game built on pvp...I just have a few quick questions about this game
1.) most importantly what is the pvp like? 2.) is having a guild that only pvp's viable, or do you have to perform certain quests to unlock stuff 3.) finally I guess what is the level grind like? |

no grind
fron GW Guild Wars, in contrast, is based around your skill as a player. Our maximum level is twenty and you hit that very quickly, after about 20-30 hours of play. ,We call that 'The Point of Ascension'. Almost all of the content in the game and in the future Chapters is only available to Ascended characters, which means we don't have to worry about providing different levels of content. All the good stuff will be available to everyone. It's not our intent to force people onto the levelling up treadmill, so the level cap in Guild Wars is almost meaningless. ps people say the pvp is the best yet |

that all sounds cool I hate leveling, one thing I'm a little unclear on is how do you go about actually getting to pvp
I mean, I'm pretty sure there isn't any griefing...and someone told me you can't go killing people who are on a quest...so is the only option of pvp like battle arenas or something like that? Or do you have to challenge a guild and they have to accept? Last edited by AflacAoF; Apr 28, 2005 at 10:42 PM // 22:42.. |

one last question , what is the endgame like, is there an endgame? I read somewhere that a guild can capture a city or something like that...what's the deal?

there is no real endgame as new chapters are scheduled twice a year with about the same new content as the full game (priced the same as well) but the new material is optional |

so I read I believe it was in the game's FAQ that "guilds will be able to take over select parts of the world" something along those lines...was that just a development idea or was it actually implemented (if it is in the game could anyone give me some details on what the requirements/benefits are for doing this)
thanks |

i think you are refering to the Worlds at War portion of the game which has different portions of the worlds guilds competing ( na,korea,eu) with a benefit to the areas whose people are on top at the moment granting access to a new area set aside for that
