What good are smiting monks? - Guild Wars Forums

I'm thinking of building a smiting monk but am not sure what complementary profession works well with Monk.

Also, is a smiting monk any good in PVP?

Elementalist or Mesmer are probably the best match to a primary monk. Both classes offer energy conserving/creation skills that will allow you to get off a few extra heals or damage attacks when you're low on energy.

Sounds like you want to do damage more than heal. How about going Ele/Monk?
