Pre-ordering is fine, but don't pay for the entire game - that's just asking for trouble. Put down 5 dollars, then pay the rest when you go to pick up the game. This way, if another retailer has the game in-stock quicker, you can go over there, buy it, then take it back to the place you pre-ordered from and get your $5 back. I know EB Games has a policy like this, and I think most places do. I'll never understand why someone would willingly pay $50 for a game 8 months before it comes out.

If not, I'll deal with EB games who was SO much more professional than Hastings. Lastly, Hastings said that if we didn't pick up the pre-order, we could still use the $10 bucks we spent on the pre-order as gift cards for other store merchandise. So that last question is........ do we want to buy 2 or 4 packages? |

My order with Best Buy is still pending
I asked a few days ago if it was still valid, and have yet to have a customer service representative email me back. It has the description of "NCsoft-Guild Wars Deluxe-Windows" for $63.59 after shipping. The current status is listed as pre-ordered, with a release date of 4/28. I hope they will honor this purchase.

Not...they cancelled all our pre-orders, but they are willing to give me a $10 electronic ticket twoards the purchase of the Collectors Edition. We will see what happens when i go to use it. Anyway its better to buy games from people who hire gamers since the clerks have a clue to what your talking about. Not just what's on sale this week and company policy made me read this screen.

I had the same problem too with the Deluxe. I will have to wait and see if I receive another pre-order box with my CE box.

BestBuy was okay for me
Just wanted to mention the BestBuy purchase went smoothly for me. I brought my preorder box and my reciept and I paid the rest ($70) of the price for collector's edition, and it was all good. Hope other orders can go as smoothly.

Best buy is horrible. They refuse to answer emails, and deserve to be burned. They sent me my friends code, when they delivered it (29th april) which is slightly late, dont ya think ?

Yeah, I had a similar problem with Gamestop. I went ahead and pre ordered throuf Fry's Electronics.
I would up with 2 preorderd, also. |
