Hey guys, i got some questions about this game
My name is seth and the game is still in the box(got it today)
I always like to know stuff abou tthe game b4 i go in I play WoW and was told this game is Cool so i got it Does it compare? Do you get mounts for faster traveling ? What is the lvl Cap ? Is it hard to get too? Are items based on LvL or skill points like Strenght? Can i jump Right into PVP and Stand a chance ? or do i need to complete Missions first ? Any feedback would be great, i will also be looking into finding an active PVP oriented guild that will help with Quests also. French guild would be cool too |

A1: Your decision, personally, Guild Wars is alot more fun than WoW.
A2: Do Not really know what you meen by this, Sorry. A3: Level cap is currently 20, may be increased in future. A4:Level is easy to get, your chance of winning is based on skill, not hours of time played leveling. A5: Armour is based on base level, weapons require certain stats, eg: Fiery Sword Of Fortitude would require level 8 Swordsmanship. A6:You can create a pvp character straight away, so you can. Hope this helps. Regards, Ashleigh. |

mounts
in wow at lvl 40 you get a mount (like a horse or a tigger) that you ride and gives you 60% movement speeds , insted of walking on foot everywhere
These however are verrrrryyyy $$$ do you get movements bonus ? or do you get to ride cool looking thing as a form of travel ? |

no mounts needed as you teleport after getting to a place on foot the first time
if you like PVE as well as PVP they have that covered as well no ganking no loot stealing no canping no griefers no lines |

Hi there, and welcome to GW. ^.^
Here are some links on the WoW issue: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...hlight=compare http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...hlight=compare Walking is your means of travelling. Level cap is set to 20. It's not hard to get to level 20 at all. In fact, the fun begins when you hit 20. Some items are based on attribute points for more damage... but it's important to note that items are not the be it and end it of all for GW. It's more of a skill based game. You can created a level 20 character to do PvP right off the bat. In your character creation window, you'll have 2 choices... PvE or PvP. Edited: Thanks Loviatar, for pointing out my mistake. There are no mounts, but you can instantly travel to any location on the map that you have unlocked. All the missions and explorable areas are instanced, so there is no reason to have a mount for long treks across country.
And this game does not compare to WoW for one simple reason: They really aren't even the same type of game. If you want to compare them, though, then I would have to say in my professional opinion(okay, so it isn't professional) that GW is a hell of a lot more fun. |

Servers
Does this game only have 2 servers , 1 PVE and 1 PVP ?
if they have 20 or something, can you move your same character around? Is there good and evil in this game ? like oposit factions ? |

There isn't good and evil in the game. You're questing and doing missions in the storyline in PvE, and in PvP, it's a test of your skills against other players, and in the case of GvG, your guild's builds and skills against another guild's.
To meet someone in game, all you have to do is make sure that you're in the same district in the same town.... or if you have a guild hall, you can arrange to meet in your GH. |

There are no "servers" per say. Rather the game is comprised of districts, which each have a population limit. Once a district reaches a population limit, no one else can get in until someone leaves. But everyone can enter every district, with the exception of the districts not in your area. There are three areas, or worlds: Asia, North America, and Europe. While a European can choose the NA world, or the Asian world, it is usually best to choose the most relevant world, mainly for connection speed. There are also international districts, which are open to everyone in the world. You can only do PvP in three distinct areas: the arenas, the Tomb of the Primeval Kings, and the Guild Halls. Now, I may not have done the best job explaining things, so if you are stil confused, I'm sure someone else will help clarify things, as my back seems to be hurting right now and I need to take a shower.

I do not wish to sound rude at all by this post.
But you say you have the game in the box with you? yes? Would it not be easier to play the game then? It costs nothing once you have it. The only real comparison I have, is that which is just hearsay, which is that we have a better community than the WoWers. That's all I know. |

He might not have opened the box yet, in which case he should still be able to return it.
As to crafting, you can only craft aromr, and only the armor of your primary class. As for mailing, there isn't much point really, because you can travel anywhere you've already been to instantly. You can also upgrade your weapons with grips and strings and hilts and such, depending on the weapon. You can add runes to armor that provide various bonuses, although the higher the bonus, the greater the penalty. Just look around on this site for more info on the game in general. |
