Two questions regarding skills, please help. - Guild Wars Forums

I have a question regarding skill points and skills in general.

1. Are we able to get unlimited skill points? In other words, can we learn all the skills from the classes we have chosen at the pre-searing?

2. Are there any skills that are 'unretrievable/missable'? In other words, are there certain skills you HAVE to get before proceeding in the storyline?

Thanks in forward for answering my questions and happy adventuring. =P

EDIT: Oh yes another question, are bosses unlimited in amount, as in can you re-kill a boss as many times as you want? (E.g. if I kill a boss, will it be there when I zone?)

most skills can be gotten from quests so save your points
more are available but not in great quantity

no skill is essential (very desirable maybe)

Oh, and lastly, heres an additional bit of good news about skills: The majority of skills will be available as quest rewards. This does not mean to say that they will be available only as such a reward, of course; you will still be able to get skills in other ways. But if you go on a quest, you may receive a skill as your reward.

What I have concluded from your answer now is that we aren't able to get unlimited skill points, but I cannot conclude from your answer whether or not there are skills that are only able to be learned before a certain part in the storyline, so please if you can, I'd really appreciate it if you would answer the second question more detailed.

as i have read from people who should know

a skill trainer in an area you have gotten to will have for your choosing any skills that you have missed so far.

the difference is that a skill that could have been gotten free for a quest will now cost a skill point and some gold

Ok one last question:

Is it possible to get ALL skills of the two professions you have chosen? I mean, if you waste all your skill points on certain skills are you still able to obtain all of them?

Ok, since Lovi didn't answer I will. There are no quests and missions that you can miss. All quests can be done at any point in the game, and all mission bosses can be killed over and over. So there is no "missing" skills from quests.

Almost all of the skills can be quested for, so your skill points don't matter much. You do get many skill points though from 1-20, and I have heard you can gain an unlimited number of them from PvP and exp gain. At level 16 I have gotten every skill I could so far for both of my classes and still have over 20 skill points.

And lastly, yes it is entirely possible to get every single skill for both of your classes. I would try to get all the skills you can from quests though, they are easy to finish and you can save your skill points for skills you find too difficult to quest for or can't find the quests for.
