Necromancer: Controlling undead minions - Guild Wars Forums

In the necromancer training mission it was implied that you could/should control your undead minions in order to trip the traps on the floor, but I could never figure out how to do that.

The skills to create undead minions from corpses has a good range on it. So if you stand well back from the traps and summon a minion from the bug corpses the other side of the traps, the minion will run towards you and set the trap off. If you stand too close you'll still get caught in the blash radius of the trap though.
