A logical question. I use a pyromancer and I must say, it can be used extremely effectively.
To win in a group, you want to stay back and blast with high-power, multi-targeting spells like Searing Heat or Rodgort's Invocation. ALWAYS have all the enchantments/bonus thingies on, always. They are vital to a pyromancer. Some you can choose are Mark of Rodgort, Aura of Restoration, Fire Attunement, and Flame Summoning (w/e its called, the one that lasts 60 secs and adds 1-13 fire damage) Since you'll be casting spells like mad, make sure you have the Flame's Eye, try to get a minor fire magic rune, and as many energy boosting things as possible. It would be kinda difficult, but if you choose wisely and play carefully, then I think the pyromancer would be a formidable foe in PvP but not until you get the higher powered skills. |

I've got an E/W and found that I can run into the fray and knock down up to 20 mobs at a time. *has really layed into the charr and should try out the charr army some time* Although being an Elementalist, you're not as much as a tank as a warrior could be, so you either have to take down your enemy quickly or have a damn good healer. Most I can last is about 15 seconds, which is enough to offload all my damage onto all around me and if they're not dead by then, it's time to rethink your strategy.

he said for PVP not PVE
how many people (unlike mobs) are going to stand under your AOE spell for more than a moment? on the other hand it is a good way to make them scatter |

The only one that lasts for 10 seconds is the fire storm. The rest do the damage instantly. There's two different types of AoE, Instant Damage and Damage Over Time. A moment is all I need to let out damage. However, as I said before I can only last 15 seconds tops in the fray. The strategy that you use for PvE can easily be applied to PvP, with a bit of tweaking of course.
