Is The Collector's Edition Limited?
I want to know if there are limited numbers of the Collector's Edition of this game. I want to get it but I don't want to pay $80 for it right now so I was gonna wait for the price to drop, but I don't want it to backfire on my WoW style and have to pay more for it later. So does anyone know if they are limited are what, are they numbered, will they make more? Also if anyone knows where I can find a good deal on one that information would be greatly appreciated

Yes, they are limited, hence, Collectors Edition.

Just because they say COllector's Edition doesn't mean they're actually limited. You can still go to many stores and find the Halo 2 CE for sell. Real limited games are usually numbered. Does anyone have any idea of how many of these were produced?

Well, logically, even if they are limited, you could wait a bit before buying it. If worst comes to worst, an online buyer like amazon would probably have a copy. Don't expect to still find the collectors edition say, years from now, still in stores.

Yeah I wonder that as well. Mainly I wonder about the headset it offers...Is that eventually required?
And how expensive is teamspeak per month? |

Two great questions. I am currently installing Teamspeak server client, and it seems free so far. So I cant see the point of this whole, 3 months free of teamspeak. Might be some catch.
The headset is of alright quality I think. It's not a 50 dollar headset, but it seems more worth 15-25 dollars. If you're going to use teamspeak, youll need a headset. |

Curious. "an individual hosting a small Teamspeak server for their online gaming clan using their home Cable/DSL connection for non-profit" will "not be subject to liscensing fees". Its free for people. I do not understand how the collector's edition includes '3 months free'. |

yup, the TeamSpeak thing seems like a scam of a bonus to me, considering that TeamSpeak is already free!

not necessarily. you can use a headset or , you can also use: - a mic and speakers - a mic and headphones so a headset is just one of three possible setups. |

I think it cost $30 more not $20, but from what I've seen it's worth it, I jsut don't wnat to pay it Hardcover art book, OST, headphones (I got the same ones for free with my LE UT2004, and they will also be free with Battlefield 2), much better then the crappy HL2 Collector's Edition (which can also still be found everywhere), that shirt is not worth $30...

okay, a more focused question: Do most guilds use teamspeak in PVP? It makes sense to me that they would, but it isn't used it's another reason not to get the CE for me :P

As far as I know, teamspeak is becoming increasingly popular with guilds for PvP. And if you happen to be in one or join one that doesn't use it, tell them to get it.
It's free. |

the teamspeak 3 months is 3 months free for a remote host to run your server for you. you can still run one off of your own PC, but a host can guarantee you 24/7 uptime. If you have a connection that is always connected, it shouldnt be a problem.
I got CE for the headset, I wanted one anyway, for voice chat, and the cost of standard + headset = cost of CE. The headset is exactly the same as the $25 Logitech one, they just put a guild wars logo on it instead of the logitech one. Last edited by Tarkhan; May 06, 2005 at 04:23 AM // 04:23.. |

Just to note. I run a CS:S team, and their is no way you can host a good TS server on ur home connection and machine and still achieve good audio. Ive tried many times, even on a dedicated box, and its just not gonna happen.
Also, TS is a very usefull tool when dealing with communicating with others. It is simple to use and very effective. Its really the only way to communicate when playing a time critical games like FPS and Racing games. Its easier to press a button and speak then it is to type out 2 sentences. I run a TS server just fine on my machine while playing games like WoW/GW/and CS:S... My buddys sound find too, just like we're talking on the phone... Not sure what your PC stats are but I run a Athlon 3000+, 1 gig ram, and im on a regular cable connection 300k/30k down/up... Teamspeak can be a bitch to get set up if you have a router but once you got it going you'll never be without it again... Gamming is so much better with voice chat! =) |

YEah, and for those of us who have a router that blocks random incoming requests for security reasons running your own TS server is impossible cause you're the only person who will ever be able to connect to it. :P The headset is a very good quality logitech headset, it fits behind the ears and goes around the back of your head it's light weight and comfortable as opposed to some other behind the head headsets I've seen where the plastic is too thick and puts undue preasure on, oh say, glasses... which gets very painful after 20 or 30 minutes. It's also sturdy, the list price on the headset is $25 dollars, it has a volume control and a mute switch, always a plus. Also, it's kind of cool that it says Guild Wars And putting all that aside, the art book and soundtrack are worth the price difference all by themselves I think. Very nice hardcover book, and some decent orchestral pieces that you can't really hear well while hacking and slashing your way through a mission. :P
