PvP on Dial-up
I know it didn't work BEFORE full release as the load times would be too long, but what about now? can I still do PvP even though I'm on dial-up without having to lag out or load for hours?

yes, but it even though it may be POSSIBLE to play PvP on dial-up, it still may lag or what-not.

It seems to me that is like asking if your 12 dollar Wal-Mart boxing gloves are good enough to beat the likes of Mike Tyson (watch the ear!)...
Why would you even consider playing PvP over dial-up? (I know some don't have a choice...). Just seems like Pixilar suicide :P (Is that a word???) |

I played PvP on dial-up during a few BWE's and I was quite good at it.
The only challenge is occasionally loading into the area AFTER your teammates, but that's really only a problem in Arena, not GvG or Hall of Heros. As to lag on dial-up: I never once had any. The game is fully capable of transmitting everything it needs to at dial-up speeds. |

I play PvP and PvE on dialup and it plays great. I haven't seen any lag in PvP, and only an occasional little stutter in PvE in the heavily populated areas. With the full retail version, all the files are on your machine so it doesn't have to download them. I arrive at the same time as my teammates, and once in a while I am actually there before them. This game is amazingly 56K friendly and I usually connect at roughly 42K! I especially like the idea that updates are streamed in the background so I never have to wait for the game to update <ahem Steam!> before I play.

I'm on 28.8K, and everything works extremely smoothly for me, I was just curious if the same was true for PvP

I forget that it is an online game for a while while playing and the PvP interm-sear quests never seem to lag for me.

I played PvP yesterday, and it ran just fine. I'm on 28.8 and I had no lag, just as if I was playing the normal game. WOO!

i have not tried the PvP portion yet, but the PvE runs pretty good on my comp. i'm at about 28.8k and i have only experienced a few little hiccups while playing but nothing to distract from the overall gameplay.
