PMing between Pre and Post Searing - Guild Wars Forums

Whenever I try to pm someone who's in pre sear (I'm in post sear now), they cant get my message. Same thing happened while i was in pre trying to PM a friend in post. Is it just not possible?

I seem to be able to chat with both guild members and people on my friends list between Pre and Post Sear Ascalon
