Default Weapons of the same type, difference? LOOK!

Okay seriously I need a solid answer from multiple people.

Is there ANY difference between a say 10-18 dragon sword and a 10-18 long sword except the name.

If it is a dragon sword it is automatically fire dmg based whereas the long sword will be based off of slashing dmg...IIRC

That kinda sounds like it would defeat the purpose of a fiery dragon sword?

Whats the difference between say slashing damage and piercing then anyway.

How does that "defeat the purpose", its a *fiery* dragon sword, therefor it does fire dmg. If your looking for a EBoTD your not going to find it in this game.

Uh he said dragon swords auto have fire damage.

So a FIERY dragon sword would be like having fire twice.

The sword is called a fiery dragon sword. He put dragon sword(this is because most people just call them dragon sword instead of saying fiery dragon sword), I dare you find a plain dragon sword with fire dmg that dosent say firey. Maby before you postted this you should have actually *seen* a fiery dragon sword.

EDIT: also you put a ? mark after you asked if it defeted the purpose, I was only awnsering your question. If a wep has a dmg mod on it will put that in front of the name.( fiery dragon sword, shocking spatha ect...)

There are no such things as "Dragon Swords," only "Fiery Dragon swords" which are always based on fire damage. Way to put your foot in your own mouth.

Dragon Swords permanently have a Firery Hilt. So if you've got a choice between a 10-18 longsword, and a 10-18 dragon sword, the longword is a better option, as you can put the hilt of your choosing in it, rather than being stuck with a firery hilt. Of course, if you're going to get a firery hilt anyway, you may as well just get the dragon sword to start with (except for the fact that they are hideously overpriced).

Can you post a sceeny? I'd be very interested to see, because as afaik, it's impossible to have any type of hilt besides firery (either spawned or applied) on a dragon sword.
