for example the ranger has the drakescale and hunters armor sets and gwonline or guildhall, i forget which shows them as being available in ascalon city. however i only see the starter armor with better def and the fur set. how do i get access to the other sets.

Those guides were all done before Retail and they put the better armor thier so people could try it out. Everyone is probably playing and not updating the guide but the better armor is farther into the game. You just have to keep playing.

And also the location of an enchanters armour set for Mesmers (at the various different arnour protection levels - or just the basic 30 version).
