Please Advise on Purchase of GW?
I would sure appreciate it IF you could assist me in deciding whether to invest "full price" money on this game. I have been reading RAVE Reviews by professional reviewers and gamers alike and SEE the GREAT examples of beautiful graphics - and I think to myself - this Game is a MUST HAVE......BUT........let me tell you, why I hesitate and seek you input before I layout my hard to come by money.
I have never been into RPG games before - - - I used to have an XBox and when Morrowind got such good reviews - I bought it, and got bored real QUICK - turned out to be a waste of money [for me]. But GW looks so COOL and from certain reviews it has features that set it apart from other RPG's and I would hope that I, like many here, would love it too. OR would I find it to be like Morrowind but with much more beautiful graphics?? TKS Michael |

A couple of simple questions first:
1. Have you ever played Diablo I or II? If so, what did you think? 2. Have you ever played Dungeon Siege? If so, what did you think? |

That would depend on what aspect's of Morrowind bored you. There are a lot of quests and missions to do in GW, and LOTS of combat. Team work is very important both in PvP and as the main story progesses, however the party builds are far more important in PVP then in PvE.
Hope that helps a little. Lazarus |

Guildwars is much better than morrowind when it comes to pure combat. |

I figure if you are an xbox gamer then you like pvping (a'la Halo). So, IMHO if you like tearing through a bunch of other people with a group of your buddies, you will love GW - that is what the game is all about.

The one huge negative to Morrowwind is the distance you have to travel to getthings done and the lack of direction on what you need to do next. I think both of these isssues are almost non-existant

Lots of people dont even buy this for the RPG but for the PvP. So if you get bored easily with rpg then you can always do the other..

My views
I just bought this game last night and wasn't to huge of a fan of other MMORPGs that Ihad tried but I really got into this one and burned 2 hours without realizing it and as soon as my friends saw it and I told them about it they wanted it real bad and they are avid computer gamers.

THANKS everyone - you all have me reaching for my wallet, BUT, it's EMPTY! OH, NO! Sounding GOOD!
YES - what I played of Diablo I - I loved it but never could figure out how to operate/control it properly. AND I played the demo of Dungeonseige and liked it some too. One more question and then I may be digging out the ol' Credit Card [hate to pay full price for a game anymore, usually wait till they go on special - but this one just may be worth the BIG $]: About the Warfare/battles - does ones success basically depend on how skilled you are with your mouse and keyboard OR can a person who is NOT the quickest and most dexterious at fighting with keyboard and mouse stand a chance in this game??? Needless to say I am a Senior Gamer and NOT the most efficient at those skills. TKS Michael |
