Energy Bar/Grey/Slow Regen?
Looking for some help here; couldn't find anything like my situation when I searched here and in some other forums. Let me describe what's happening:
Finally decided on an Ele/Rng as my main character and worked my way toward lvl 12 and Yak's Bend. Got a full set of Pyro gear, Diessa bow...grabbed a snow wolf hanging out by the gate for a new pet; thought I was ready to go out and play for a bit. Unfortunately, something seems amiss with my power bar. When I engage in combat and start casting, a portion of the bar turns 'grey' or 'silver' and progressively grows in size during the fight as I burn thru energy. Power regens normally until hitting this wall, then slows to a crawl. I have 4 > pips in the bar, but once hitting the grey, regen slows to about 1 point every 4 seconds, in or out of combat. I've tried stripping my gear off that has any regen or + energy to it. Putting it back on...no change. I've tried with and without henchmen. No effect. Tried switching zones...same deal. None of my other characters have this happening to them. When my Me/Ele casts, the energy goes away and comes back normally, as does my War/Ele and Rng/Me. I'll get in a fight, hit a spell such as Firestorm; my power drains down 15 points but about 5 of these are in the 'grey' part of the bar that continues to grow as I fire off spells. Eventually, if it's a long fight, I'll be down from over 50 energy to less than enough to toss off a Flare, firing my bow until the grey portion of the bar slowly ticks away. After the fight I'll go get a soda or toss the ball for my mutt while the minutes tick off until my bar is full again. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks in advance for any help you can give!! ~Warspawn~ |

Exhaustion, I assume.
What spells are you using? |

does it look like a tech glitch? The way you're describing it I'm picturing ur energy bar looking like: ====::::: where the :'s are a part that is expanding. But since its also affecting your energy, I'm assuming Soul Monarch is right with Exhaustion. Although, I am also an E/R but im lvl.16 and am at Gates of Kryta and haven't found any spells that cause exhaustion.

Nope...no exhaustion or spell effects at all on me that I can see. Like I said; I even switched zones back to Piken and fought lvl 5 charr for a bit to see if the effect happened, and it did.
Doesn't seem like a tech glitch; numeric values as well as the visual seem to say about the same thing. |

I think the original poster assumes that Exhaustion is a condition that will display in your 'affected by' section of the UI; this isn't the case. Exhaustion is exactly what you are describing - part of your energy bar turning grey. There are tons of spells that cause exhaustion - the main one I can think of is Meteor Swarm, because I use it frequently, but there are many others as well.

Yep yep. Absolutely correct. It's from spamming Gale + Hunters shot when they're knocked down for the bleed. I'm a goober, heh.
Thanks for the help all!! |
