Ranger/Expertise question...
I've got 4 points into Expertise...what does this give me?
I looked here: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/skill.php and read: Quote:
Thanks for any help! |

I dont think you can account for the cost by looking at it on the description of the skill, I noticed My ranger was using skills at a slightly (ever so slightly) reduced cost even though the description still read an energy cost of 10. (of course, were only talking 1 point here, but my expertise is about as high as yours atm)
Watch the cost and do the math, see what happens. Just remember, it wont be much at all to start. |

I have something like 6 or 7 expertise points (I think) and I noticed that the skills that cost 10 energy, really cost only 8 with my expertise. The skill description won't change, but you will notice it from the energy bar. The best way to test it, cast ignite arrow (or something like that) and watch your energy level, it will tell you how much energy it really cost.

Thanks guys!
I'll check that out tonight...I never thought to check the energy bar, I just assumed the description would update (but, now that you've pointed it out, with something like 1 point in Expertise, it would be hard for the description to say something like "Cost: 9.759" or the like)... Thank you all! |

Yea, I had like 6 points in Expertise and most of my attacks had in fact been reduced by 2 energy

Expertise doesn't show up on skills, but is should!
Yeah, this confused me for a while too.
The fact that the cost numbers are in a special color imply that they change, as do damage levels for other skills. But they never change, which makes you think that your expertise is not working. Maybe this is a good update candidate for NCSoft. The skills already round to the nearest whole point. It would be nice to know exactly how much the skill you are about to use will cost. (Sorry, I don't want to do math while I'm fighting! ) Dwig |

Well, with it at 4, my attack skills use 8 energy instead of the normal 10.. so I guess it'll go down to even 4 energy if you have it high enough!
