Query re:this site, interface & character performance
I???ve been playing Guild Wars for approximately three weeks and feel I now know enough what to ask.
1. I???ve read this site???s Skill Trainer area. I???ve either not found the trainer or if found, the trainer does not offer the skills listed. Is there an up-to-date listing of trainers, their locations, and the skills they teach? 2. I would be eternally grateful for a link to detailed maps. Wandering around the countryside is deadly. 3. While I have not acquired the skills I would like, my character does fair damage against a single mob two levels lower than her???she???s yet to see a single mob her own level (in post-searing). On the other hand, she dies plenty to mobs because of their numbers. However, she has yet to survive a PvP battle. My ranger/monk does little to no damage at all against player adversaries. Even using the ready-made PvP characters, her traps certainly seem to affect no one. According to this site, traps last for many seconds. Is that incorrect, or once sprung, do they need to be recast? 4. I have been told repeatedly ???t??? is the assist key. When I press ???t??? nothing happens. I went into ???interface options??? and saw no option for creating an assist key. I thought I created a ???target??? button but it does not differentiate between friendly and hostile targets and it certainly doesn???t highlight the mob the leader is fighting. Thank you in advance for any advice/answers you have to offer. |

1. Last time I checked the skill trainer was up to date... I've found the skills I was looking for by going to the town it said it was tought in.
2. While there aren't any EXTREMELY detailed maps, there are very usefull ones, one of which is the interactive map on the top of the side menu on the main site, the other is the map project, which is here: http://www.promisance.biz/guildwars/...etaLabeled.jpg 3. Most of the PvP players are level 20, and by now have all of the skills they're looking for. From your post it sounds like you have not yet reached the cap, and are fighting against people who are (if this isn't the case, I don't know whats going on, maybe you just need better skills). These people will have the best armor as well, meaning that you wont damage them as much without a high end weapon and high attribute level in a weapon. For the ready-made characters, yes the traps, once sprung are gone and need to be recast. They last so long so that there is a better chance of them being sprung in the first place. Also, this game is not meant to be played alone. You will almost always lose to two or more enemies against you if you don't have any backup. 4. Pressing T only helps if someone has recently called a target. To call a target ctrl-click on the enemy, or, once selected, press ctrl-space, then after the call, people can press T to attack your target. The same can be done for ctrl-clicking on your health and statuses, but I don't know if T can be used with those types of calls. Hope this helps, if not, ask more questions. |

Thank you so very much. I've read and reread everything you've written as well as rechecked the maps. You've helped immensely.
Capt. Greywind, however, has never offered my ranger Healing Spring or any other ranger skill. Again, many thanks and safe journeys. |
