Upgrade Question
I have questions about upgrades and crafting, and I've searched several forums without finding a definitive answer. Here's what I think is correct so far:
1. Runes cannot be salvaged off of armor if that armor was from a collector or was the first set as you entered the game. 2. Runes can be overlaid on top of each other on armor. 3. Runes can be salvaged from armor if you spent the money to craft it. My question is, does it work this way for weapons and such too? I have a really nice sword, but I haven't upgraded it yet because I'm not sure if I can change my mind later about what's on it. Can you overlay one hilt on top of another hilt? Can you salvage a hilt from a sword you upgraded? Does armor work the way I described above? The first three statements were from my in game experience, but I'd like confirmation. If anyone knows, I'd greatly appreciate an answer. Thanks! Steel |

1 and 3 are correct. 2 however is wrong. You can only have one rune on a piece of armor. And only one rune of each type. I.E. I could not put a superior fire rune on one piece of armor, and a major on another for a total of +5. I would only get the effect of the SINGLE highest rune I had on. But you can have multiple runes that affect different attributes. For example, you could have a superior rune of fire, and minor runes of water and earth. And you would get the effects of all three. As long as they are all on diffferent pieces of armor. As for swords, if you put a sword hilt on a sword that already has a hilt. the old hilt will be over written and lost forever. Not sure about salvaging from customized weaps, as I dont uprage my weaps until I have an endgame calliber one, or the upgrade is something worthless that I dont care about. I hope that answers your question. |

Answers it perfectly, thanks man.
Though actually, I have another question: I have a fiery sword, +12% vs hexed foes. I added a grip to it, and then tried to add a hilt. The hilt asked if I wanted to replace the old enhancement. If I add it, does it mean it will replace the +12% damage, or the fiery? Makes a big difference. Do you happen to know? Last edited by Steel Circle; May 24, 2005 at 07:55 AM // 07:55.. |

The hilt of swords supplies the adjective in the name of the weapon, in your case you have a fiery hilt. So if you replace the hilt, you will erase the fiery aspect of your weapon.
