Monk/Warrior Experiment, taking comments please.
I've been reading some threads about Monk/X combinations and such, made a Monk/Warrior and he is now 20, working through the trials. I'm worried about this character's ability in PVP though. I'm a guild leader and made this monk because we needed another one. I wanted to do a little experiement though to see how much the warrior side could handle for offense.
PvE I've found an offense that works well: Mending & Strength of Honor for Upkeeps. I use Vigorus Spirit for more health. For DD stuff: Flurry, Sever Artery, Gash, and Final Thrust. For the last skill, rez. Vs mobs, I have plenty of health coming in and the DD is great. I am very worried about this all for PvP though. So far, I just change my skills/attributes around 100% Monk will lots of healing whenever I'm needed as a healer. Comments, suggestions, etc are very welcome. -Chronic Protectus |

i am a Mo/W lvl 20 and focuss on swordsfighting, yep i agree a Mo/W can be very poweful as a close combat enemy 2 reasons for that:
1. though the attacking primary warrior got the better armor, the primary monk can use healing spells to sustain its own health. 2. Nobody expects a monk to be powerful as a fighter and therefore go into battle unprepared. in fact with the mending to keep the health and with the strenght of honor to get the extra dmg. people are in awe every time the monk is the last man standin.... ..yes guys i got res. with me .............. |

If I werea Mo/W or W/Mo I would concentrate onf using protection prayers. It's like adding armor. Especially the one which make you add 123% to you health point.

Yep... definetly Protection Prayers for sure, as well as healing.
About the only negative (and you will see soon enough) is that as soon as any mesmer worth his or her salt comes into play and locks onto what you are and what you are doing... YOU NEED to take them out fast, else you are finished. This includes nasty stuff like breaking enchantments, hexes of all kinds - including slow and energy taps, and the counterspells, since all your heals require charge up time to cast. It becomes key to have these guys wearing tuxes and night gowns taken out before they get a fix on you. Jana |
