Gunbuster Korean tournament?
Not sure if this was the best place to post the thread...but it didn't really fit in any of the other categories. ^_^
Couldn't help but notice that the PvP tournament on the front page has a Gunbuster reference...is the Korean guild somehow related to Gunbuster? The official site has no information on it - or is it just a reference? Just really curious since the original Gunbuster is one of my fave animes... |

There's no Gunbuster element to the contest. That's just Spooky being...Spooky. He probably very well is a fan of Gunbusters although his arcane knowledge of pop culture is seemingly as boundless as it is random. But the official contest is known as "Aim For the Stars".

Another thread I missed! I'm losing my touch in my 'old age.'
Allow me to explain this one: the GAINAX classic space-opera 'Gunbuster: Top wo Nerae!' is usually translated to English as "Aim for the Top! Gunbuster" .. and we had a contest called "Aim for the Stars" ... stars, space, it was all too good to pass up. There's usually some kind of references jokes in anything that I post, some are so subtle that they exist only for my own amusement, some are obvious, and some are just plain out there. As Saus said... it's just a Spooky kind of thing. |
