Runes where do they come from? - Guild Wars Forums

I know this is a dumb question, but where do the different runes come from?

They come from armor drops off of mobs. Ususally they will be marked 'Unidentified', and when you ID them using the Identification Kit, it may reveal a Rune inside the armor. Expert Salvage this baby and cross your fingers...

Or you can always buy them from others who did likewise.

I think its nice that runes come in all the different armors. THe thing is yo never know what you could possibly be getting until it's ID'd. What I mean is that you might knock of a Skeleton Mesmer.. get its armor and end up with a Monk rune..

I can see getting ones like vigor or absorbtion off of anyone, but it would take some of the guessing out of things if they had the rune drops go along with the armor type a bit more.
