You need a monk or two on your team (not the henchies). The henchines won't heal the king for some reason and let him die. Also, just leave the king up on the wall where it's harder for him to get hurt.

have one person stand at the top of the outpost and light the fires.. then have them run around the top scouting for mobs.. then mark it on your compasses when mobs are incoming. you should easily defeat them if you run to the outpost entrances and meet the mobs when they come in. dont wait for them to come inside too far. if you time it right no mobs should ever even make it up to the king to attack him. the defending takes about 15 minutes

aye dont let him engage anyone. park him up on the stairs on the far wall near the fires. mhenlo and lina (protector) are actually easier to use in this mission than real monks in my opinion. as long as you keep the king away from the fights and get to the mobs before they move too far into the outpost

When I beet the mission we had one Monk. I think the trick is launch catapults as quick as possible and get everyone downstairs. There two ways in split the part up 4 on 4 and defend each gate. It was pretty easy after that.
