i'm comfused...i'm looking to do a build of my own and want to include in my skills the 'skull crack' skill, but i have NO idea where & how to get it...i'm in post searing lvl 13 w/me...having one hell of a time trying to figure out how and where to get this skill and the posts on this question are completely unclear...ANYONE WHO CAN HELP?!

the best bet is to just search the web for a detailed desciption on how to obtain this

I did..the problem is, I can't get the skill..I've tried all kinds of things...to no avail...and there doesn't seem to be a skill trainer that gives it as a skill...Arrgh!

You just have to Kill Thorgrim Beastslasher, in Iron Horse mine, (Just passed Yaks), Then it will be unlocked at Skill trainer.

Located South of The Granite Citadel in the zone Spearhead Peak. The boss is called Hail Blackice.

Found this in a quick search of the boards. Hope it helps.

yeah, i found that too, but i don't see that area on the interactive map...any idea where it is?

The one in yaks, Just click him, and then "Can you teach me any skills?"

Elite Skills

Based on the information in this thread, you can no longer get elite skills from a trainer. You can only capture them from a boss. I have not looked into getting Skull Crack, but based on the info in the thread you may have to go find the correct boss to acquire the skill.

Either way I hope you find the skill.

Thorgrim Beastslasher (Iron Horse Mine)
Hail Blackice (Spearhead Peaks)

Taken from another site's skills listing, I'd link it but I'm not sure if thats allowed. There is also a community works thread about elite skill locations.

i thought i killed the Thorgrim Beastslasher, but when i tried to go back to yak's bend like another person told me to, to get the skill, it wasn't there...re-did it many times, tried different things, but nothing yet...thanks for the input though.

Skull crack is an elite skill, therefore you must use SIGNET OF CAPTURE on one of the bosses who uses the skill( i think they were named above)

It is an elite skill, at some point in the past you could purchase them. Now you can only get them through use of a signet of capture. Also, just by browsing the threads it looks like you may not be able to get it from Thorgrim anymore. I am not positive as I have not tested it.

Hail Blackice is still listed as the other option to capture it from, but most likely you will not meet him until you finish in the crystal desert region and return to the shiverpeaks.

Hope you get your skill.

thank you for the help...any idea where i get the signet of capture? is it at a skill trainer or through a quest person for the skill?

There's a quest in Lion's Arch from Magi Mala-something (believe he's on a hill around the area of the skill trainer) that leads to another quest which gives you a signet of capture to use (for the quest) and then another one as a reward. After that they can be bought from the same guy and a few of the skill trainers. Don't know if you have to do the quest to get them from those other trainers that offer them cause I always do the quest (since you're getting 2 capture signets without using skill points).
