Do purple salvage armors ever produce anything? - Guild Wars Forums

Every time I've gotten a purple salvage armor (about 5 times) it has turned into common crafting materials. Can you ever get runes or anything from them?

yes you can. i got 2 runes from purple items. i guess you're just have bad luck.

And make sure you use the expert salvage kits on those purple items, if you are not i mean.

Yeah of course I'm using expert salvage items. But I mean when I get a blue armor, I ALWAYS get the rune out of it; however every time I've had a purple armor I have only gotten crap like tanned hides and whatever.

that is the way probability works. at least half the time, it doesnt.

Of course you only get a rune out of the armour if it has a rune in it - there are lots of purple armour drops that after you identify them have nothing in them.

I'm confused about what you can salvage runes from. Any non-white item? or does it need to say something special? I've gotten 3 purples but none of them said anything about a hidden rune, and when i salvaged them i got nothing except common crafting items.
