Auction house? - Guild Wars Forums

Does anyone know if there is any official comment on an auction house? I have looked through the sites for a couple hours and have seen some mention but seems to be mostly made by those not involved with developement.

If there is any official satement made on it and you could show me a link that would be great.

btw this section of the forums here rocks! nothing like posting up some much needed questions and 20 min later, BLAM! there is your answer.

Personally, I think this would greatly improve the in-game commerce mechanics. Instead of spam so fast you can't read the trade channel, an auction house would be a great way to cut out alot unneeded "WTB SILVER DYE PLEASE PM ME!"

My thought has always been that they could set up an NPC "Auctioneer" in certain cities. Every district could have one. However, this might require alot of code, so if we get something like this, it might take a while for the Anet team to create and implement it. Maybe they could include it in one of the expansion packs!!

EDIT:

Plus, something like this would really help to level out the economy. A stable and more importantly a much more acurate price level could be established. Plus, new players could easily see acurate price representations of items and avoid being ripped off.
