Some thoughts on the game
First let me say this is not a rant,i enjoy the game still despite its severe limitations. However i likely won't buy any expansions. The climb to lvl 20 is fast, the story line is over fast. This leads to the question what next endless pvp sessions with 10 year olds screaming STFU,boring.I enjoy the pve aspect even though i do indulge in pvp.Unless lvl caps are raised or the mobs dumbed down, pve becomes to trying.I am afraid unless some effort is made to accomodate the pve crowd within 6 months this will be a niche game for kids maybe that is the plan.Just a few thoughts i hope AE will listen.

Sorry, I didn't see that question in there and it wasn't apparent to me since I'm not at the "what next" stage. I probably still have a good month or so to go before I even come close to topping out on all of the PvE that currently exists.
If you've adventured as much as possible and you don't get into the PvP aspects then "what's next" for you might just be a different game. Sorry, but that's what it sounds like from your original post. |

The pvp is fun however with the large amount of children in the game very annoying.

PvP is the next of the game, however, that doesn't mean that all PvP in GW is created equally. The most serious and IMO enjoyable will occur in GvG. Arena is where you can learn some things, but can be extremely frustrating. Tombs is ok, but since losing has no consequence, people don't take it seriously enough. If you want to enjoy PvP with PuG's, either take charge of the group or find someone with a brain who will. Pickup groups that don't discuss strategies and builds before entering are most likely going to fall (far) short of the HoH. Players who don't want to go through this preparation should probably be booted as well as anyone who doesn't want to play a role. ie "I play a timid warrior, he doesn't like to hit people so he uses his wand!" RP is fine, but in competition, you need people who actually fit on a team.

Pick up groups are a waste of time GvG is what i do most of,i like the UW and Fissure as well but getting a good group there is near impossible.

You don't like the game because you want more PvE, some people want less PvE. And some people like it just the way it is.

Everyone has there own opinion lets respect that and not make this a flame fest like so many other threads.
I am addicted to this game and want it to grow and evolve..we have had some of the best support I have ever seen on a game so far. All peoples opinions, ideas and concerns should be taken seriously from Anet..change is scarey but more often than not always a good thing. |

PvP is great fun, but.... Counter-strike is a good example of what's wrong with GuildWars PvP. In Counter-strike everyone enters the game at pretty much the same "level" and with pretty much the same weapons (you buy and upgrade, but not so much that you throw off the level of competition.). The most important thing in Counter-strike is to work as a team. I think this is what the developers wanted from GW PvP, but I don't think it's what they're getting. Just too many things throw off the balance in the PvP arenas and the HoH. For instance, an ascended character has far more fire-power than a pre-made PvP, in spite of the level cap. If you put a team of ascended chars against pre-made PvPs, chances are good the pre-mades are going to get beat. One really nice thing about Counter-strike is you can sit down and be a competitive player in about a week. You'll win some, you'll lose some. You won't be one of the elite, but it's still a lot of fun. And that's the important thing. Speaking strictly for myself, (I am now donning the flame retardent gear...) GW PvP needs a lot of work. There are sooo many areas that need to be improved: Once you're in the HoH don't you hate sitting around for 20 minutes going, Pick me! Pick me!? How 'bout 7 hench in HoH? If I want to fight w/ hench at least give me a full team; I'm probably going to lose anyway. In the arenas, lesser characters shouldn't be able to use items their higher level chars have found. We know people are doing this. Heck, I'm doing it. And you know the noobs are getting crushed. Better yet, everyone starts even. No special weapons. No armor. Or make it more like Half-Life Deathmatch. You want a rocket launcher? Go find it. Speaking of which. What's wrong with a free-for-all arena? Necros vs necros. War vs. war. Are we carrying this team thing toooooo far? That's it for now. I have on my flame gear. What do the rest of you think? |

I agree Jack ...some great ideas and opinions there!! thats what this game needs is some more work on it to polish it up and it will be around for a long time. I hope Anet is reading these posts.
