This is how powerful soul reaping can get... with 8 on 8...
as a n/w, i've often wondered why my soul reaping attribute is even there.
then i created a monk PVP character, and went straight to halls of heros (my necro is 19 atm) Ok so i'm in hoh, and the fight starts, there's 16 of us (yes 16) and that is not including any bone minions or whatever thta necro primarys or secondarys raise... So my question is, with a skill of say, 8 in energy storage, the elementalist gets +24 energy, nothing to scoff at... But with a skill of 8 in soul reaping, once any 3 things die, wether its your team mate, or one of the enemy, or a minion from either side... you get 8 energy back, pop, instantly for each one, you have now equaled the bonus from elementalist. i'm not even counting those who are ressed! Ok so we look at it like this, 16 people total. People die, get ressed, die again etc... Necromantic monsters are raised, when they expire/are killed, you also get that energy bonus... OMG how hardcore is that for a necro? I think this EASILY trumps the energy boost of the elementalist, however not untill HOH does this work out pretty good, unless of course you are also fighting large mobs in PVE, but for HOH, oh wow... Give me Soul Reaping any day. I currently have a n/w - 19, an ele/mes - 15 and a ranger/necro 16. So yes, soul reaping is very... VERY hardcore PVP skill, maybe not for the early arenas... but lol, later on it is the shnitz for halls of heroes, the ultimate PVP experince. |

oh, and most groups do like a necro in the party, thanks to some nice skills called, bone minion, OR well of power (anyone in the large green sphere gets +5 regen per second for 22 seconds and +2 regen to their mana, effitvley healing everyone for a total of 220 so long as they remain in the sphere, which is pretty large.
Then again, it dosent take much at all to cast a 2nd one , have a few around the battle field and your bases are covered. Yes, necros are nice and desired for teams, so yeah, let the Soul reaping begin... |

acountlost, you've got 8 on 8, at least 8 people have to die for you to win, and its pretty rare that a flawless victory is had in hoh (ie, only people on one team dying, no resing)
If your side is looing fast, well, you would not have won anyway. If its deaths each side, then by the time the 3rd death occurs, you've equaled how much energy bonus you'd have if you were an ele with the same number in your enengry storage ability, anything more trumps the ele. If its the other team, well then, the excess energy just helps provide the killing blow even faster... However, you must be prepared to spend your energy and spend it hard, because it only tops up to your maximum, not over, thats a point i forgot to mention. |

I like what i hear.
I only have one Character right now. A N/E at level 5. I've been able to handle 4-6 monsters at once. At times I seem to never run out of energy. I'm starting to cast faster. I'm not too sure i've made right choice with a N/E, but I do like it and i'm going to follow through with him till level 20. Then i'll make new guy. |

Currently I have a 20 R/N and I have to say with the huge diversity of necro and ranger skills I'm like a kid in a candy store thinking about all the hurting I can do.

well attimus, you are probably not casting faster, but moreso.
People complain that it is no good in pvp, but they talk about the arenas' as you progress, they are only 4 vs. 4 man teams. When you hit the real deal, it'll be 16 people going at it, raising dead, and also with pets, when the dead or pets die, you also get the bonus. Yeah, you'll out energy an elementalist easily, so long as more than 3 things die, wether its a team mate, an oppoenent, an undead servent (raised from either side) or a pet (from either side) or somethign dying for a 2nd, 3rd, 4th time etc... (raised by sig or monk) muahahah. |
