Stuck On What Element
Hello.
I currently have a level 14 E/Monk in Druids Overlook. For now, i have played using fire magic. Fire magic is good, But I think to many people use it, and it is overated. I have tried air, I hate the slow expensive recharges on the skills, even when I have air attunement. Another aspect of why I didn't like fire magic, is because the only spells I have are flare, fire storm, lava font. I'm thinking about earth magic, although I don't have many offencive earth spells, except stoning. Can anyone please tell me where I can find earthquake, aftershock, and any other earth skills? Thanks. Regards, Ashleigh. |

I change my elements a lot depending on what I am fighting. I generally use fire for fighting large groups at once do to the AOEs, and air when fighting tougher single targets. It's kind of hard focusing on one particular element until you are close to the end because the best skills you can't get until later in the game. Once I got most of my skills, I just change around and respec when necessary, it only takes a brief farming run to get my refund points back.
Here is a link I use to find where the skills are located (sorry to use a different Web site, if someone knows a good page at Guru please post it ) Skill Locations P.S. I stick my elemental runes (fire, air, etc) on my headpieces so that when I switch to a new element I can just change out the headpiece. |

As for PVE, I don't think anything comes close to fire dmg output. I group with a guildy that is specced in 16 fire, and he's got meteor, meteor shower (or whatever), fire storm, phoneix, inferno, lava font, etc and just puts out massive amounts of damage to mobs stacked on my warrior
Get skill recharge 20% on a wand and an off hand and you'll seriously own. Pvp, on the other hand, is a little different |

Unfortunatly. Every elementalist begins with Fire, and thus they are used to fire. because they can spam flares over and over.
I like challenges tho. As soon as I hit Yak's bend, I became an Air elementalist. It is... much more challenging. The high costs, slower recahrges.. I'll say that Energy Storage is one of my main Attributes. But, I do keep my Fire around, for now. Lava Font and Fire Storm are the only two fire spells I use right now. Soon... as I get more Air spells. Those too shall fall! MWHAHAHAH! Really, IMO it depends on what your looking for. I usually team up with at least 4 others. Even if they are henches. I dont NEED to do the most damage output. Plus.. I love the AP of Air spells. |

I'm air/water. Keep em away from you with water (freezing) and the hit em with your air attacks and theyre dead. Maelstorm is a bitch against casters also, one of my favorite spells
Fire is only good for area damage, if an air elementalist and a fire elementalist got in a fight, the air would win. I find it a better strategy to take out fewer players faster than taking longer to take them all out. |

Fire stops being very effective starting in the Desert. Many monsters have really high armor, so a lot of fire spells deal only 30-40% of the listed damage. Combine that with that there are so many enemies that interrupt, and the long cast times with long recharge times of fire spells really don't look so good anymore. It becomes somewhat useful when you get to the southern Shiverpeaks, against ice golems and ice imps, but when you finally get to the ring of fire islands, you'll be back to doing no damage with it. However, meteor shower is really good though, simply for the knockdown effect.
