Or grab a Signet of Capture and do the Frost Gate again. At the beginning at the first lever the door opens and a big Dolyak comes out. On top of it a summit sits, casting ...heal other! Thats how I grabbed it before doing the Kryta mission....Good luck

Is it only available from a critter or Skill Trainer?
I thought SoC was only for Elite skills..? :\ Inac |

EDIT: can/could you only capture skills for your primary class? if so, has this been changed in a recent patch to allow you to capture secondary skills? Last edited by Ignotus; Jun 04, 2005 at 08:04 AM // 08:04.. |

You can capture any skill that either of your classes can use. It's always been this way to my knowledge.

I personally won't waste a SoC on some non-elite skills, since they cost money and skill points to buy, I'd rather use them on captuing elite skills

I have read a ton of the "SoC system sucks" threads, read both sides of the story....yet no where has EITHER side mentioned some skills you can capture are non-Elite. If the skill isn't Elite, why do I have to BUY it either from the Trainer or through a SoC? Does anyone know the breakdown on how much every extra skill you BUY from trainers increases the cost for the next? Or, the same breakdown for buying SoC Signets? If both systems cost the same....what's the point in me grabbing an SoC to get aNON-ELITE skills when I can just be lazy and buy them from a Skill Trainer? There has got to be a reason for this. And while I am not saying any of this to start a major debate, all I know is I now lean a lot closer to "SoC System Sucks" side. :\ Inac |

Inac, generally every time you buy an SoC or a skill, it increases the price of the next skill 5 or 10 gold. It's always one skill point, though.

So there is no way to get Heal Other as a quest reward?
I think the only online guide I am missing is "the complete, comprehensive skill quest reward guide" If the Prima guide has that, then it's definitely worth buying. |

[QUOTE=eA-Zaku]So there is no way to get Heal Other as a quest reward?QUOTE]
That is what it is looking like, which I find to be BS if a few people can verify this. If the skill is not Elite, it should be available through Quests. Want it to be more difficult to obtain, fine. Make the Quest quite a ways from a town or outpost, or make the Quest very difficult to accomplish. No non-Elite skills should only be attainable through the SoC system. :\ I don't want to have to buy any of my skills, including the Elite ones. That's why I had already decided to not get Elites at first and attempt to compete without them. But that was prior to finding out that not ALL non-Elite skills are questable, which is so suspicious. I still find it hard to believe that all these people complaining about the Elite skills being so hard to get, yet no one has mentioned these other non-Elite skills. Granted they may be more readily available to Capture, but certainly lessens their complaints in my eyes. If they were bitching about the SoC system in general, they shoulda been incuded, otherwise just a bunch of hypocrits! :P Inac |

Heal Other is crap.
Unless you're a Elementalist primary with alot of energy, this skill is NOT going to save anyone's life too often, especially waiting on that energy recharge. And it certainly does nothing for your life either. No, there are better ways to heal someone... or even better, protecting them. Jana |

I however, at level 19, am still using Orison of Healing and Dwayna's Kiss. Both of them put TOGETHER heal for 151 total, for the same amount of energy. I would much prefer having one spell to do the job of two, thereby allowing me to take heal area for example, which allows me to heal myself quite easily, and just myself when used correctly. Or in conjunction with Infuse Health bringing someone from the brink of death to just about topped off. My skills may easily compliment the addition of Heal Other compared to raising my Protection Prayers to a decent level. What works for you, may not work for me. That is what I LOVE about this game. So many choices to make, some are decent...some, are not. :P Inac |
